Anytime Fitness opens 100th franchise in the UK

Having broken the Guinness World Record for the longest running non-stop football game at the end of 2016 by playing for 72 hours, it shouldn’t surprise anyone to hear that Anytime Fitness, the gym franchise, is smashing milestones left, right and centre. The business has just announced that it’s added another notch to its belt by opening its 100th franchise outlet in the UK.

Having already reached over 3,300 franchisees around the globe faster than McDonald’s, Dunkin’ Donuts and Subway, this addition to the family shows how determined Anytime Fitness is to achieve its goal of spreading the franchise across the world. The new franchise in London’s Ladbroke Grove also makes the UK the fifth country to have 100 Anytime Fitness clubs open, alongside the USA, Canada, Australia and Japan. No wonder then that Entrepreneur recently named the business 2016’s Top Global Franchise.

The rapid growth is especially impressive considering that the company was founded in 2002 and the first club on UK shores opened in Bristol in 2010. “We are so proud to be opening the 100th Anytime Fitness club in the UK,” says Chuck Runyon, CEO and co-founder of Anytime Fitness. “The first club was opened six years ago so this is an amazing achievement, which we are very thankful for.”

Andy Thompson, chairman of Anytime Fitness UK, adds: “We couldn’t be happier to reach this milestone. The work and effort put in by the whole Anytime Fitness family is remarkable and we are now seeing the rewards.”

And as many Brits resolve to get in shape this year, it certainly seems that Anytime Fitness has everything in place to continue its exceptional success into 2017.
