Creams British Luxury launches franchising drive to become the Starbucks of afternoon tea

While tea may have been the traditional hot drink of choice on these shores, coffee has come to dominate the warm brew space over the last two decades. However, two brothers now aim to turn the tide with the launch of a new franchise model. And given the confidence of its founders, it’s safe to say that Creams British Luxury, the afternoon tea company, may be on to something.

Speaking exclusively with Elite Franchise, Unzar Aleem, managing director of Creams British Luxury, revealed that he and his brother Teyeb always planned to franchise the business. “Five years ago, when we decided to give Britain a brand new and exciting twist to the traditional afternoon tea, we knew it would make the perfect brand to franchise,” he said. “It has always been one of our main goals – apart from delivering the best and most exciting service and experience out there – to franchise 100 stores in the next five years.”

To succeed in these endeavours, the Aleem brothers have enlisted Mark Lemmon, associate partner at The Franchise Partners, the franchise consultancy, to help them roll out their new franchise model. And clearly the siblings are confident about the future success of the business. “Creams British Luxury can do for the traditional afternoon teas what Starbucks has done for coffee,” said Aleem, the managing director of Creams British Luxury, when speaking with Bdaily.

The company is now focused on using franchising to expanding the brand across both the UK and the rest of the world. The company has already opened stores in Leeds, Bolton, Derby, Canterbury and Bluewater. They also plan to open more stores in Livingston and in London this year. However, Aleem isn’t stopping there: Creams British Luxury is also looking at expanding into the Middle East and is currently negotiating growth into China. Additionally, the franchise has had a few potential franchisees reaching out to them in Canada and the US.

With promising prospects like these, the Aleem brothers certainly have reason to feel bullish. /></p>
