Romano is well known in the hospitality and leisure industry and his experience includes being COO of Little Chef, where he engineered the return to profit and subsequent sale of the brand. He also previously held positions as managing director of Trevor Hemmings’ Herald Inns and Bars and as an associate director of Phones4U.

Joe Teixeira, CEO of Harry Ramsden’s, said: “With his wealth of experience and first-class track record, we are delighted to announce Frank’s appointment to this important new role within Harry Ramsden’s.””

“Frank will be charged with accelerating our ambitious franchising model which is set to deliver over 100 new UK outlets, as a result of agreements in place for Yorkshire, Scotland and South West Sussex. And with a franchise agreement already in place for Qatar, Frank will also be exploring overseas opportunities which will further increase the brand’s international presence,” Teixeira added.

Romano said: “I welcome the opportunity to work with such an iconic brand, which has undeniably been transformed in the past few years. With its premium look and feel, excellent product offering and mass-market appeal, I believe our proposition is an enticing one. We will initially seek to recruit the right franchisees for the brand and thereafter, ensure they reap the rewards of their investment in Harry Ramsden’s.”

Romano’s appointment confirms Teixeira’s statements following a record-breaking Q3 last year, that brand would be investing more resources to facilitate further expansion.
