Lisa Suswain of Wagging Tails named best female franchisor at NatWest EWIF Awards

Founder of dog care franchise handed award by Natwest and EWIF as women and franchising take centre stage

Lisa Suswain of Wagging Tails named best female franchisor at NatWest EWIF Awards

We’re regularly championing the cause of women in franchising here at Elite Franchise. You can imagine our delight, therefore, that the time has come around again to celebrate the females that are changing the face of the British franchise sector. This year’s NatWest EWIF (Encouraging Women Into Franchising) Awards, hosted yesterday in London, had ‘encouragement’ as their core theme and saw seven deserving winners pick up awards for their franchising efforts.

A tireless commitment to franchising landed Jane Masih, head of franchising at Owen White Solicitors, the Outstanding Contribution to Franchising title, whilst Lisa Suswain of dog care franchise, Wagging Tails, was handed the prestigious Woman Franchisor of the Year gong. Meanwhile, Suswain’s franchisee, Claire Slingo, was awarded the title of Woman Franchisee of the Year. Awards were also given to Hayley Simpson from Tatty Bumpkin, Vicky Matthews and Caroline Gowing from Pink Spaghetti, Hannah Banfield from ServiceMaster and Sally AnneButters from Coconut Media.

The awards, which were hosted by EWIF’s co-chairs Louise Harris and Louise Bruce, boasted an audience of more than 100 guests from across the UK franchise industry. For those of who’ve been living in a cave for the last two years, EWIF is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to encourage women to buy a franchise business, to franchise their existing business or to help existing franchise operations to attract more female franchisees. An admirable cause if ever there was one.”

“It’s great to know we have honoured some of the best in the industry, both upcoming and established women in franchising,” said Louise Harris, host and co-chair of EWIF. “We hope it will inspire women everywhere to take a closer look at franchising as an option , either buying into one of the many women-friendly businesses available or franchising their own business.” style=
