In an annual bid to encourage women into franchising, the EWIF Awards finalists have been revealed
It’s widely known that franchising is a very male-dominated industry. That’s why it’s so important that Encouraging Women into Franchising (EWIF) make sure to deserve its name by putting successful female franchisees and franchisors in the spotlight at the annual EWIF Awards. And with each passing year seeing EWIF rake in record-breaking membership figures, it is no wonder their eighth awards ceremony is filled to the brim with bight candidates eager to walk home with the top gong.
Given more and more women join the franchising industry annually, it’s always important to highlight the sector’s newcomers. This is exactly what the New Woman Franchisee of the Year award is all about. This year the list of hopeful franchisees includes Hannah Drury of Caremark Sutton; Leanne Thompson of babyballet, Cheltenham, Gloucester and Stroud Five Valleys; Julie Houston of Right at Home North Cheshire; Laura Barker of Rhythm Time Newcastle upon Tyne; and Zoe Willis of Expense Reduction Analysts Enfield.
The list of finalists for the parallel New Woman Franchisor of the Year award includes Alex Burnsider of Sounds Right Phonics, Rebecca Riley of Kalma Baby; Lisa Raynes, Jo Middleton of Dog First Aid and Emma Morgan of tiny toes ballet.
However, the longer established and battle-hardened contenders for Woman Franchisee of the Year award are not to be forgotten. Especially with such franchisee names as Shweta Jhajharia of ActionCOACH London; Ruth Solomon of Right at Home; Ravneet Bermi of Puddle Ducks West Hertfordshire; Hilary Coates of Wagging Tails and Emily Norman of diddi dance in the running.
And in the race for Woman Franchisor of the Year, Angela Sterling of Lingotot, Kathy Doolan of Rhythm Time, Jo Stone and Tracy Townend of Puddle Ducks, Fiona Simpson of ARTventurers and Denise Gosney of Razzamataz have their hats firmly in the ring.
Additionally, the night will also see the winners in four other categories be named. These are Woman Franchise Employee of the Year, Young Woman in Franchising of the Year, Service Provider of the Year and Inspirational Woman of the Year. You can find the full list of entrants and categories at EWIF’s website.
This year’s winners will be revealed on Tuesday May 15 at 250 at Bishopsgate in London during the EWIF annual conference. But given the packed field, we already believe every finalist is a winner.
