Papa John’s joins forces with relegation-threatened Premier League club

Burnley fans can now enjoy a Papa John’s pizza to ease the bad taste of poor recent results.

Despite finding themselves in the Premier League’s relegation zone, the fans of Burnley Football Club can at least enjoy a world-leading pizza brand to ease their current sorrows. Thanks to a club director, those visiting Turf Moor on match day can now take advantage of a new mobile unit serving up Papa John’s pizzas.

The director in question is Stuart Hunt, who is the American-based president of PJ Restaurants. Stuart, who lives in Utah, is also an executive partner of ALK Capital, which became the club’s majority shareholder earlier this year.

ALK operate in the world of investment, risk management and business operations, and Stuart said: “I took over as a director of Burnley in January. One of our immediate goals is to improve the whole fan zone experience and we are making progress. For us to introduce Papa John’s to the football club seemed a natural choice. Pizza brings people together and the reception from fans was certainly a winning one.

“We will now test the catering unit in different locations around the ground to find out what works best for fans on their day out. Papa John’s is well-known for having the freshest, finest ingredients which are used to provide a better flavour.”

Amit Pancholi, the UK director of business development with Papa John’s, added: “We are excited to be working with Burnley Football Club. As well as providing a new revenue stream, which can be re-invested back into the club, the arrival of Papa John’s adds to the fun and overall experience for those fans watching the game.

“As a brand, we are actively developing relationships with leisure venues, such as sports stadiums, to ensure Papa John’s becomes available in even more locations across the UK.”

Papa John’s now has more than 500 stores around the UK. They offer world-class support, comprehensive training and national marketing. As a franchisor, the company supplies all the assistance needed to get your successful Papa John’s business up and running.
