Pitman Training establishes itself as leading brand on national TV

This week, Pitman Training featured on ITV News, offering a solution to people looking to close the digital skills gap. With 180 years of training experience and its UK-wide provision as a franchise network, the training super brand was the obvious choice to comment on the UK’s lack of online literacy.

During the segment, ITV visited Pitman Training’s Manchester centre to interview students and learning coaches on the recent survey results where eight out of ten workers admitted to not feeling confident in a range of computing tasks. These tasks included backing up files to the cloud, entering formulas into spreadsheets or setting up a video call – all of which are covered in Pitman’s range of specialist courses.

“It was an absolute privilege for ITV to come and film in our centre and interview our team. For years, Pitman has consistently been one of the UK’s business super brands, so it’s great to be recognised for all the hard work we are doing to help people upskill and develop themselves,” said David Baldwin, franchisee of Pitman Training Manchester.

“Nowadays, digital skills are essential to the modern workplace,” he continued. “At Pitman, we provide a range of digital skills courses and diplomas designed to give people of all experience levels the introduction they need to start improving their digital skills. So many people have been affected by the pandemic, whether they are now spending more time working from home or looking for a change in career. We want to help give people the skills they need to give their working life a boost.”

Pitman is a leading brand in the education market with 85 training centre locations in the UK, Ireland and worldwide. Because of this, Pitman’s marketing team and PR agency keep their finger on the pulse to secure national and regional coverage to drive customers to their franchisees.

“Over the past two years, we have found that one of the many impacts of the pandemic has been an increase in the number of people re-evaluating their career, its trajectory path and their next steps,” explained Paul Lewis, Managing Director of Pitman Training. “At Pitman, we help people get the introductory digital skills and resources they’ll need to feel confident taking the next step, whether in work, education, or business. But we don’t just offer digital skills. We have over 250 self-paced, flexible training courses, meaning no matter what somebody is interested in, we have a course for them.”
