Stagecoach Performing Arts officially breaks Guinness World Record for largest simultaneous performance

Franchises are accustomed to breaking records. However, not everyone’s made it into the Guinness World Records twice for the same thing. Those bragging rights belong to companies like Stagecoach Performing Arts.

The performing arts franchise for kids has now officially been named the holder of the record for the largest simultaneous performance of one show – again. The event in question happened on Sunday July 1 2018 but has just been officially announced by Guinness World Records. The performance involved 12,500 students across 73 international schools who all took part in a simultaneous performance of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Junior and coincided with Stagecoach Performing Arts’ 30th anniversary – rather fitting as Emma Watson, a former Stagecoach Performing Arts student, performed in the 2017 live-action movie version.”

What makes the record even more exciting is that Stagecoach Performing Arts broke its own 2008 record. Back then, 66 performances of the play Glad Rags was held at the same time.

Commenting on the record, Sarah Kelly, CEO of Stagecoach, said: “We’re over the moon to have secured the world record, once again – what an incredible way to commemorate our 30th year. We couldn’t have done this without the fantastic support of our franchise network, who did a phenomenal job of working with our in-house events team to plan their own performances.””

Impressive as this feat is, Stagecoach Performing Arts is hardly the only franchise to break a Guinness World record. For instance, in 2015 Papa John’s broke the record for most pizza dough being tossed and in 2016 Anytime Fitness broke the record of longest non-stop football game.

So we’re betting Stagecoach Performing Arts won’t be the last franchise to break an insane record.”
