Subway opens its first store within a car dealership

Teaming up with the Skipton Ford dealership, the sandwich franchise will be bringing subs to those looking for a new four-door saloon

Fancy a meatball marinara and a Ford Mondeo or a tuna sub and a Transit van? Well it seems you’re in luck. Not content with opening 500 non-conventional locations in places like convenience stores, hospitals and petrol stations, Subway has launched its first outlet within a car dealership.

Opened by brothers Mark and Ed Bentley, the new Subway will provide subs, salads and flatbreads to the customers and employees of their Skipton Ford dealership, as well as serving local businesses and passing trade. This adds to the Bentley brothers' existing portfolio of three dealerships and a Subway store in Garforth.

“We’re excited to bring a new Subway brand offering to our Skipton site and believe that it will be a great complement to our dealership," said Ed Bentley. "We are also delighted to announce that the new Subway store has created 12 new full- and part-time jobs within the local community, which is great news.”

Greg Madigan, area development manager for Subway UK and Ireland, added: “Non-traditional locations are a key area of growth for the Subway brand in the UK and Ireland. The partnership with Skipton Ford is the first of its kind in the country for us and we’re thrilled to have opened this fantastic new store with them.”

Here’s hoping this partnership will drive yet more success for Subway.
