The Elite Franchise Top 100 (EF100) is thrilled to reveal the latest ranking of the top 100 franchise brands across the UK. The franchising industry continues to drive economic growth across the nation, with more than 700,000* people employed in franchising throughout the country. Established in 2017, the EF100 acknowledges and celebrates the industry’s best franchises. Entering its fifth year, the definitive league table is delighted to make its annual announcement of who has made the top 100.
To place first on the prestigious list is a tremendous achievement and taking the top spot for the second year running is Home Instead – the home care franchise will hold the title for the duration of 2022.
“Placing highly is something to be unbelievably proud of. This year we have judged on our eight key criteria, as well as the frameworks in place to manage the challenges of the pandemic and long-term planning that has yielded so much success. These brands have wowed us with their attitudes and innovation - they deserve enormous congratulations,” said Scott English, Brand Director of Elite Franchise.
Making up the top of the list is Snap-on Tools in second place, ActionCOACH taking third place, Subway coming in at fourth and InXpress taking fifth position. To be awarded a place in the top five is an incredible accomplishment for these franchises who impressed the judges due to their proven business models, adaptability and resolve.
Franchise Director at HSBC UK, Anita Roberts, was one of the six franchising specialists judging this year’s entrants. “This year we have placed value on a franchise’s ability to conquer the array of problems caused by the pandemic, as well as their capacity to prosper within a rapid-moving and recovering business environment. The durability and innovation shown in the face of unimaginable circumstances is what has decided our top picks. To rank within the top 100 is a phenomenal achievement,” said Anita.
The highest climber from last year’s list is Lingotot going from 79th to place 58th and the highest new entrant is Water Babies, debuting on the list at 16th. The EF100 showcases a broad range of successful franchises with a huge variety of brands across numerous sectors making it into the esteemed poll. The EF100 acts as a guide for anyone considering buying a franchise and the list provides a mass of exciting opportunities.
“We are thrilled for every single entrant who has made the EF100. Each year, the ranking becomes more competitive, and this year has been no exception. Narrowing down from hundreds of entries, the list showcases franchises who have continued to provide the finest services or products, alongside significant support to their networks of franchisees. The 2022 EF100 list shows the best that the British franchising industry has to offer,” added Scott.
Finalists will be celebrated during a sparkling awards gala in London in early March of 2022.
