Workingmums.co.uk launches Top Franchise Awards

Franchising has proven itself to be an incredibly attractive avenue to women. While the likes of Kate Lester, Jan Mitman and Pam Bader have shown how franchised businesses can thrive under female leadership, many women are enjoying the flexibility and support that comes with buying into an established brand as a franchisee. And, in a bid to reward the efforts of women in franchising, Workingmums.co.uk has just launched its first ever Top Franchise Awards.”

Sponsored by LawBite, the legal advice portal for small businesses, the awards have been created to recognise franchisors who have empowered women in business, as well as franchisees who have gone above and beyond in the last 12 months. Winners will be selected in each of the following categories:”

Supportive Franchisor Award – acknowledging franchises that offer the best advice and support to franchisees from the start of their journey and throughout.

Family Friendly Franchise Award – recognising the franchisor that offers the best family-friendly concept.

The Franchise Award for Continuous Improvement – in recognition of those franchisors who have continued to evolve and develop their offering as they have grown.

Best Newcomer Award – recognising new businesses that offer flexibility, are growing fast, making themselves known in the marketplace and show great future potential.

Overall Top Franchise Award – will be selected from all the above categories and will take into account innovation, growth, support and the provision of a flexible business”concept.

Franchise of the Year Award – voted by the public to recognise franchisees for their achievements in the last 12 months, from exceptional customer service to overcoming challenges.

The 2016 Top Franchise Awards winners, which are due to be announced online in May 2016, will be judged by Gillian Nissim, founder of WorkingMums.co.uk; Yasmina Siadatan, former winner of The Apprentice; Clive Rich, founder and owner of LawBite; Griselda Togobo, founder of Forward Ladies and AWOVI Consulting; and Deepali Nangia, investment director at Wild Blue Cohort, the angel investor network.

“We are delighted to be launching our Top Franchise Awards,” said Gillian Nissim.””[T]he awards affirm the growing number of parents who are looking towards self-employment for greater flexibility and new challenges [that] fit around their families. The best franchises offer both the benefits of self-employment but without some of the risks associated with striking out completely on your own, since franchisors have already demonstrated the viability of their business models.”

Thankfully, with entries being taken at Workingmums.co.uk up to and including March 4, there’s plenty of time to put your name forward. />“</p>
