Home Instead Senior Care

Home Instead Senior Care is an award winning franchisor and a bespoke homecare brand looking for caring entrepreneurs to join its network.

Home Instead’s trophy cabinet includes the coveted British Franchise Association 2013 Franchisor of the Year Gold Award as well as the British Franchise Association 2015 Customer Focus award. Prospective franchisees wondering if a Home Instead franchise is right for them, can now gain even more reassurance as, by scooping another top national award, Home Instead has demonstrated that its employees have praise for the brand as a place to work.

Silver success

Winning the Silver Award for ‘Best Place to Work’ in the prestigious Customer Experience Awards 2015 was a proud achievement for an organisation that prides itself on delivering the highest quality non-medical homecare within seniors’ own homes. To do this, it requires passionate CAREGivers to not only join its ranks, but also stay motivated and engaged with all that they do, day after day, to help realise Home Instead’s mission: to change the face of ageing in the UK. Home Instead’s bespoke brand of top quality homecare can only be delivered if all who are delivering it truly believe in the principles and ethos behind it. Home Instead’s commitment to tracking client and CAREGiver satisfaction through its annual Pursuing Excellence Advancing Quality (PEAQ) research was central to the silver award success. This year’s PEAQ results revealed 96% of CAREGivers are proud to work for the brand with 96% of clients in turn likely to recommend Home Instead - statistics that impressed the award judges.

Recruiting and partnering with the right franchisees is key to this success and the joyous moments of care and companionship that occur in the homes of seniors across the country as a result, as clients and CAREGivers form lasting bonds. Home Instead seeks to partner with what it calls ‘caring entrepreneurs’, who can take its vision and use it to develop, drive and steer their franchise in their territory.  To do this, Home Instead’s franchisees’ principles and beliefs need to be aligned with the company’s vision.

Caring Entrepreneurs

There are currently over 170 caring entrepreneurs operating profitable and successful businesses as part of an organisation that has 10 years’ heritage in the UK, two decades of experience in the USA, and which is now in 17 countries worldwide.  With 150 carefully mapped territories still available in the UK, there is every opportunity for someone with business acumen and good people skills, who also has a natural ability to care and propensity to network, to make their own mark with Home Instead. There are currently a number of Home Instead territory resale opportunities throughout the UK too.

Existing franchisees are already thought leaders in their locality and the conduits through which Home Instead is changing the face of ageing in communities across the UK. There is room in the Home Instead franchise family for more brand ambassador business owners.

We have a 5 Star rating hat-trick in the Smith & Henderson Franchisee Satisfaction Survey. We received the highest possible rating from the market research company for 3 consecutive years in 2013, 2014 and 2015. 5 Star Franchisee Satisfaction from Smith & Henderson helps stellar franchisors stand out from the competition. The 5 Star rating demonstrates that our franchisees are highly satisfied with our business model and operations and are truly engaged with the Home Instead brand and all it stands for.

Happy Franchise Offices

Home Instead’s managerial franchises can become a £1 million turnover business by years 3-4 with an operating profit of between 15-20%, a financial milestone achieved typically with around 130 clients. Franchisees with the right skills set and genuine empathy for the issues impacting seniors, naturally suit the role and are happy running their Home Instead business. Many of our current franchisees have gone on to run multi-million pound businesses.

Franchisees, their care managers and CAREGivers work together to deliver quality homecare, the Home Instead way, with additional PEAQ stats from 2015 to prove it. 97% of CAREGivers would recommend our services to a friend and 97% of clients said their CAREGiver takes an interest in them as a person, a fact born out of our one hour minimum visits, which give time to deliver quality care and companionship.

Every time a CAREGiver visits a client, it is care that comes from the heart and contact which is meaningful and enriching, for both parties involved. Considering that Home Instead also matches clients and CAREGivers on the basis of background, culture, hobbies and interests, it is not surprising that Home Instead’s homecare model is a marker for quality relationship-led homecare.

The Financials

A Home Instead franchise territory is carefully mapped and will always have at least 25,000 adults aged over 65, which enables any franchisee to build a substantial business, wherever they are based. The overall investment is £90,000 - £110,000. This includes our franchise fee of £37,500 + VAT.  Banks will often lend up to 70% of the total investment. There is also an on-going royalty fee of 6.5% of annual turnover, excluding VAT. Franchisees can develop, drive and steer their business, help to enhance the lives of seniors and provide solid career opportunities for their CAREGivers.

Training,  Support and Collaboration

Franchisees receive the best quality training they could wish for, covering business operations, finance, standards, quality, care, marketing and IT.  Home Instead also stages events at which franchisees can share best practice, network and inspire each other.  With all of this training, and ongoing support from industry-leading specialists at national office, a Home Instead franchise is an excellent opportunity for any caring entrepreneur. In fact many of its new franchisees are referred to the brand by existing franchisees, who are delighted with their business decision and how their franchise journey has evolved.
