The acquisition is the latest in Belvoir’s plans to strengthen its market presence and helps beat its target of having 200 offices by the close of 2016
Belvoir has already been having a cracking year, both winning Best Franchise Lettings Agency of the Year for the fifth year running at the Lettings Agency of the Year Awards and acquiring Newton Fallowell, one of the largest estate agents in the east Midlands. Well the good news continues: Belvoir has made another purchase, snapping up Goodchilds Estate Agents and Lettings.
Goodchilds is to be rolled in with the Newton Fallowell brand and will see a further 16 sites added to the company’s network. This will push Belvoir up to a total of 211 agents and see it managing over 35,000 properties. All in all, this marks a major milestone in Belvoir’s growth smashing its target to have secured 200 sites by the end of 2016.
Dorian Gonsalves, director of commercial and franchising at Belvoir, said: “The acquisition represents a clear strategic fit with our acquisition strategy of building a network based on multi-brand franchises, which will increase market share and geographic coverage. The acquisition of Goodchilds just two months after the acquisition of Newton Fallowell now puts us well ahead of [our targets] and with further acquisitions in the pipeline, we are looking forward to breaking new barriers in the future.”
David Warke, founder of Goodchilds, explained why he settled on a deal with Belvoir: “Within the industry I had always watched Belvoir, as they are clearly one of the most successful franchisors around. Belvoir has a strong lettings background and seemed like a good fit with our own brand. I also thought the cultural fit was right, I like their ethics and the people I met and I am confident that Belvoir will look after and support our franchisees.”
It definitely looks like 2015 has been Belvoir’s year.
