New starters are always an exciting addition to a franchise network. Whether it’s a franchisee’s first experience in business ownership, or they want to combine their existing entrepreneurial flair with a proven and robust business model there’s an opportunity for all in the world of franchising. Victoria Jennings, Founder of the baby development franchise, Bloom Baby Classes, has plenty of recent experience welcoming new members to her network with an incredible 24 sign-ups this year alone. Here, Victoria shares the news of one of her latest franchisees, Katie Lyon, who will be a showstopping addition to the network.
It’s always such an exciting time when a new franchisee joins our network. One of the latest lovely teachers to invest in our business model is the wonderful Katie. She’s going to be launching her sessions across mid-Cheshire this September, and we’re so excited to welcome her!
At the age of just 34, Katie has a fair few achievements under her belt. Having started off her career as a site-based surveyor on building sites across the north of the country, she retrained in law then joined the civil service where she defended workers in legal hearings for more than six years. But when she had her son last year, she realised that her true calling was working with children, and so she invested in one of our franchise opportunities. Katie’s passion for baby development really shines through, and families living across mid-Cheshire will be very lucky to have her when she takes over the business in September. She’ll also be bringing her creative eye to the business, having competed in the UK’s most-loved baking show – the Great British Bake Off!
Back in 2017 Katie was on Bake Off and made it to the final, and from time to time she still gets recognised when she’s out and about. As she prepares to welcome new mums and dads to her sessions later this year, she’s really hoping it won’t be long before she’s known for another reason – bringing Bloom Baby Classes to Knutsford, Winsford, Northwich and the surrounding areas. Having her little one last year, like many of us, made her realise just how important classes like Bloom Baby are for a child’s development. Not many of Katie’s friends had babies, so joining her own community at classes was a real lifeline. Little did Katie know that it would become a business investment opportunity too!
Katie really liked how there was just nothing else like us on the market – from day one she’s been a true believer in everything our brand stands for. As a first-time mum, nothing prepares you for the overload of information you receive. At Bloom Baby, we listen, value and understand. Katie has worked in the legal and property sectors since her early twenties, and like many of my franchisees hadn’t ever really considered moving away from the corporate world before, but having her little boy really made her revisit her priorities. By investing in her own Bloom Baby Classes franchise, she can spend more time at home with her family, whilst running a profitable business that is scalable and very much in demand. Bringing her specialist sessions to babies during such a crucial age, from birth to 15 months, is so important.
Katie is one of a growing population of mums who are more invested than ever in the value of specialist baby development classes for their children. In fact, Katie is one of 13 new franchisees that have invested in our franchise in the last month alone.
She is so bubbly and warm – it’s no wonder she did so well on Bake Off! I’m sure her creative mindset is going to do wonders for her new business, and I can’t wait to see what she will go on to achieve. With her varied background, from building sites to court rooms – and even the Bake Off tent! – I know she’s going to be a wonderful addition to our franchise network. This is a very exciting time for Bloom Baby Classes, having increased our market share considerably throughout the pandemic. Katie is going to be one of those trailblazers, supporting us in taking the brand to the next level. We’re very pleased to welcome her!
