Over the past few weeks, my time has been consumed by a seemingly endless stream of paperwork and administrative tasks. From completing detailed funding applications and attending multiple solicitor meetings, to reviewing countless documents and finalising Franchise Agreements, it has felt like a constant cycle of reading, signing and submitting! I’ve also been opening new bank accounts, negotiating lease agreements and handling all the finer details that come with setting up and formalising new ventures. If there’s a form to fill or a dotted line to sign, chances are I’ve tackled it recently!
Although there’s been a lot to take in, the support from Martin (the outgoing franchisee) and the Franchise Support Centre team has undoubtedly made the process feel far more manageable and less overwhelming.
We’re currently on track to complete the sale of Signs Express (Huddersfield) on Monday 31st March which I’m hugely excited about! After months of preparation and recent training, I’m eager to get started and immerse myself fully in the business.
In the meantime, I’ve really valued the opportunity to work alongside Martin and Stuart Coomber, Head of Sales at the Franchise Support Centre. Reviewing the customer database and getting to know the client base has given me a great head start. While learning the ropes is essential, I believe that building strong customer relationships is just as important and as Martin prepares for retirement, it’s a priority for me to ensure the trusted service customers have come to expect, continues seamlessly.
Although completion isn’t quite final yet, my Signs Express uniform has been ordered, and I’m thrilled to be hitting the road with Martin to meet some of my soon-to-be customers! The support I’ve received so far, from early introductions and helpful advice to a clearly defined roadmap, has been incredibly reassuring, especially as I transition into a completely new sector.
Just a few more forms to complete now and all being well, I’ll be signing on the dotted line on 31st March! Following that, I’ll spend two weeks in-centre with Martin for a thorough handover, and I’m grateful for his kind offer of ongoing phone support over the next six months. I’ll also have the backing of the Franchise Support Centre team with Stuart visiting on day two, operational support from Jeff and David from day one, marketing ready to go, IT on standby, and more!
By my next diary entry, I’ll hopefully be writing as the new owner of Signs Express Huddersfield! Watch this space!
