Canopy Children’s Nurseries win prestigious prize at this year’s British Franchise Awards

The Solihull-based business is named leading ‘Emerging Franchisor’ at ceremony staged at The Vox Conference Centre.

Despite being in business for only three years, Canopy Children’s Nurseries have already made a name for themselves. Just a few weeks’ ago, the Midlands’ based company were one of a dozen winners at the 2023 HSBC-sponsored BFA (British Franchise Association) Franchise Awards.

Held at The Vox Conference Centre in Birmingham, Canopy Children’s Nurseries collected the gong for best ‘Emerging Franchisor’.

Founded in 2020, Canopy Children’s Nurseries has set new standards in their sector and they are set to grow considerably in 2024. The franchise currently has nurseries in St Albans, Wembley Park and Shrewsbury, with three more set to open early next year.

On receiving the trophy, the company’s business development director, Lynne Newman, said: “I’m delighted to be presented with such a prestigious award so early in our journey. This recognises the impact and innovation that Canopy has already achieved.

“This is just the start of the Canopy story, and we look forward to even greater achievements in the future. We provide our special blend of care for youngsters and the inspiration behind each and every day is to give the children we care for, many magical moments of childhood.

“Our head office team is focussed on creating a modern approach to its day-to-day operations. We are passionate about bringing enriching environments, natural resources and a sustainable ethos to our venues. It is a very different nursery concept, but we are keen to remain in touch with the needs of today’s parents.”

Canopy Children’s Nurseries provide childcare for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers. They create child friendly spaces with a focus on the natural environment.

Lynne Newman added: “We focus on the skills that our youngest children really need to develop, and they are encouraged to become curious explorers, confident communicators, independent learners and inquisitive thinkers.”

Pip Wilkins, chief executive of the BFA, said: “Congratulations to Canopy Children’s Nurseries on this tremendous win. We had some fantastic entries for this, our 35th ceremony, but theirs really stood out from the crowd.

“We would like to thank them for being such great ambassadors and for representing the very best in UK franchising.”
