OBE for founder of The Creation Station

One of the UK’s most successful franchisors, Sarah Cressall, has been awarded an OBE (Order of the British Empire) in the King’s New Year’s Honours’ List. For the past two decades, Sarah has been chief executive of The Creation Station, which is a family-run franchised business that she founded from her home in Devon.

This well-deserved honour has been bestowed on Sarah for her outstanding services to creativity in education, entertainment and business. Sarah has dedicated herself to nurturing creativity through arts and crafts classes, parties, and events for all ages.

Since she began franchising her business, The Creation Station has had a positive impact on local communities across the country. Her UK business partners have inspired almost two million children and adults to enjoy the company’s award-winning creative sessions.

An overjoyed Sarah expressed her gratitude by saying: “I’m deeply honoured and grateful to receive this recognition for doing something I am extremely passionate about. I’m incredibly fortunate to work with amazing people. Thank you to all our fabulous Creation Station franchise partners who do a fantastic job of bringing creativity into the community every day.

“And my heartfelt thanks to Ruth Morris, Rachel Logan, Katy Clarke, Louise Richardson, Emma Winterbourne, Emma McCalla-John and Jude Coles for their brilliant support across the UK.

“Special thanks to my sister Fran Long, who has been my biggest supporter ever since I was a little girl. I also wish to say a huge ‘thank-you’ to my lovely husband Duncan and three wonderful sons, Sam, Ollie and Josh. Their unwavering love has enabled me to achieve far more than I ever thought I could.”

Ruth Morris, the Franchise Manager at The Creation Station, praised Sarah’s unflinching commitment to nurturing creativity and community enrichment. Ruth said: “Sarah is a truly worthy recipient of this accolade. Her unwavering passion for developing creative experiences has enhanced the lives of so many people of all ages.

“She is truly remarkable and inspiring, and Sarah continues to explore ways to reach out to those who may not have access to creative opportunities. Her creative energy and drive has not only helped her to build her business, but is also a model for others to benefit from.

“We eagerly anticipate Sarah’s continued commitment to harnessing creativity for the greater good, so that more children and adults can access and embrace the transformative power of creative experiences.”
