Six UK stores launched in the lead-up to Christmas

Papa John’s open half-a-dozen new outlets in the space of two weeks

It’s been a ‘bumper few weeks’ for American pizza franchise Papa John’s. The company has enjoyed dramatic UK growth during the past year, with six new stores opening during a two-week period in December. These latest outlets are in Biggleswade (Bedfordshire), Burntwood (Staffordshire), Consett (Durham), Frome (Somerset), Hailsham (Sussex) and Stowmarket (Suffolk).

Amit Pancholi, the company’s director of business development, said: “We’ve had a bumper December, which has yielded six new stores being launched in the two weeks before Christmas.

“Demand for Papa John’s has increased greatly in recent years, and we now have well over 500 stores across the UK.  For us, it’s all about being where our customers are. This means we are now opening-up in more compact trade zones to minimise delivery times. Hopefully, this will provide even more convenience for people across the UK.

“We’ve added further high street units, while Papa John’s has also sprung up in holiday resorts, sports stadiums and leisure venues. All in all, our company offers flexible franchise formats which vary greatly, such as a full onsite store to modular pods and even mobile delivery units.

“We work in partnership with established organisations, enabling them to add a new revenue stream, while always satisfying customers through our quality hot food offering.” All Papa John’s pizzas are made with fresh ingredients and freshly baked dough – it’s never frozen which enables them to retain a better flavour.

Papa John’s was founded in the United States in 1984, with its first outlet opening in Jeffersonville, Indiana. The company now has over 5,000 stores across 45 international markets and territories. Papa John’s arrived in the UK 23 years ago.

Those interested in running a high street franchise or at a non-traditional venue – such as a leisure centre or sports stadium – will enjoy top-class support, comprehensive training and national marketing. As the franchisor, the company supplies all the assistance needed to get a successful Papa John’s business up and running. For further information please see: www.papajohns.co.uk/franchise.

Amit Pancholi added: “All new starters can tap-in to our Pizza Academy training system. This contains a suite of training modules on various aspects of the business.

“It means, for example, anyone can join as a delivery driver, but map out a career path by acquiring the relevant skills. From there, and with experience, they can become a team leader or store manager – and perhaps ultimately a business partner. We now look forward to welcoming many more recruits of all ages and backgrounds to our teams.”

There are opportunities available at every level of the business, and in numerous locations across the UK.  For more information about recruitment, or to apply, please visit  Papa Johns Careers
