Just over a year ago, Lewis launched his More Than Loft Ladders franchise, which now serves Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire. In that short time, he has grown his business significantly, winning praise for his customer service, rapid expansion and contribution to the local community.
The inspiration began at home when Lewis faced his own storage challenges. “I’d been struggling to find extra space, and curiosity led me to check my loft. That was a lightbulb moment and made me realise just how much potential was up there – and how many others must face the same problem too.”
Although his decision to join the loft improvement trade surprised Lewis’ family and friends, he saw an opportunity to build something different. “Spiders and dust have never really been my thing,” joked Lewis. “So, when I said I was investing in More Than Loft Ladders, eyebrows were raised! By my instincts told me this was the right move – and I was right. It’s been an incredible journey so far.”
What started as a one-man-band has quickly evolved into a thriving enterprise. The business now spans four territories, has multiple vehicles, 700 sq ft of storage space and employs a growing a team of full-time staff. Customers have responded positively too, leaving more than 100 five-star reviews.
Lewis credits the franchise model with giving him the tools to grow without losing sight of quality. “The support from the More Than Loft Ladders network has been invaluable. We’ve been able to expand at pace, while keeping every job we do up to the highest of standards.”
Looking ahead, Lewis is determined to continue his momentum, with plans to double the number of households his team serves. “To be recognised nationally in such a short time is a real honour! It shows that our focus on trustworthy, cost-effective loft storage solutions is making a real impact.”
