Snap Fitness enjoying record-breaking year as evolving club model drives demand

New Snap Fitness gyms are opening with strong membership numbers, with at least 15 new locations already planned for 2027

Snap Fitness is expanding across the UK, with record gym openings, strong membership growth and at least 15 new locations planned for 2027.

Snap Fitness is seeing record demand for its newest UK gyms. Average membership at opening is 201% higher than for its UK openings last year, while recent gyms have set new global pre-sale records for the brand.

The 24/7 fitness franchise has continued to expand its UK network throughout 2026. Openings in Chancery Lane, Otley, Redditch and Immingham were followed by Bridgwater in September. Snap Fitness now has 112 locations across the UK and Ireland, with a further five gyms expected to open before the end of the year and at least 15 already planned for 2027.

This growth forms part of a wider expansion across EMEA, where Snap Fitness has opened more than 20 gyms during 2026 and has further locations in the pipeline.

A record-breaking opening in Bridgwater

Bridgwater, Snap Fitness’s most recent UK opening, set a new global pre-sale benchmark for the brand. Its performance underlines the demand the evolving club model is generating.

The gym is the fourth opening for franchisees Olga and Gurnake Cheema. They are part of a growing trend across the network, where more than 60% of franchisees own multiple locations.

“Breaking the global record with Bridgwater feels unreal, but this achievement belongs to everyone who supported us throughout the journey,” said Olga. “Our team on the ground, suppliers, HQ colleagues and fellow franchisees all played a huge part in this success. It’s a powerful example of what we can achieve when the whole brand works together as one team.”

Raising the standard of the gym experience

Snap Fitness is focused on improving what each new gym offers as it expands. The brand has continued to elevate the look and feel of its clubs, with greater emphasis on strength and functional training areas, enhanced group programming, Reformer Pilates and dedicated recovery facilities.

The aim is to give members more choice and a more complete gym experience while retaining the flexibility of 24/7 access. People still want convenience, but they increasingly expect better design, equipment and variety in how they train.

Kevin Yates, CEO of Snap Fitness EMEA, said: “More important than the number of locations we’re opening is the quality of those gyms. The Snap Fitness gyms opening today are very different to those we were building a few years ago.

“Members expect more. They want high-quality design, great strength and functional spaces, strong programming and offerings such as Reformer Pilates and recovery areas, which form part of a more complete fitness and wellness experience.

“We’re seeing that translate into some of our strongest pre-opening membership sales, both regionally and globally. It isn’t only about new gyms either — we’re bringing many of the same improvements into existing locations through refurbishments, so the wider network continues to move forward too.

“The results show there is real appetite for a 24/7 model that offers more than convenience alone. That gives us and our franchisees confidence to keep growing, while continuing to raise the standard of what a Snap Fitness gym can offer.”

Growing with confidence

Snap Fitness is moving away from competing purely on price. Its approach combines the accessibility of a 24/7 gym with the design, programming and facilities often associated with higher-end clubs, giving members more ways to move, recover and feel good.

With five further UK gyms expected to open before the end of 2026 and at least 15 planned for 2027, the brand intends to keep growing while maintaining the quality of its gym experience.
