For Stagecoach Performing Arts, the brand has seen how its model not only supports business growth and community impact, but also nurtures the next generation – giving students confidence, purpose and unforgettable moments on stage.
In June, that mission came to life in extraordinary fashion. In one of its largest international showcases, over 360 Stagecoach students from across Germany and Lithuania came together to perform at the iconic Showpalast München – home to Europe’s largest LED wall and one of the most spectacular stages in the world.
Here, Andy Knights, CEO of Stagecoach, shares why moments like these are about so much more than performance – and how international experiences can help young people grow in confidence, character and creativity, both on and off the stage.
For many of the 6 to 18-year-olds taking part, this was the biggest stage they had ever set foot on. Backed by a 600-square-metre LED screen and standing tall on a 1,200-square-metre stage, these young performers delivered a series of high-energy, heartfelt and technically impressive numbers to an audience who cheered every moment. But more than the lights and applause, what stood out was the students themselves – their discipline, their teamwork and their unshakable enthusiasm.
These performances didn’t happen overnight. They were the result of months – even years – of dedication, both from the students and their Stagecoach teachers. And for many of them, this was a dream realised: the chance to perform in a world-class venue, as part of an international ensemble, representing their school, their country and themselves.
This kind of experience is invaluable. It develops skills that extend far beyond the stage – resilience, collaboration, communication and confidence – qualities that will serve these young people for the rest of their lives, whatever path they choose. That’s what we mean when we say Stagecoach is about “Creative Courage for Life.”
The event also highlighted one of the greatest strengths of our franchise model: the ability to unite diverse communities under one shared purpose. With students and Principals from all 14 Stagecoach territories in Germany, plus the team from Stagecoach Vilnius in Lithuania, the showcase was a celebration of connection, creativity and cross-cultural collaboration.
For the students from Lithuania, it was a landmark moment. Travelling to a different country, meeting new friends and performing together created bonds that went beyond language. As Dovilė Staniulionienė, Principal of Stagecoach Vilnius, shared, “The support, friendship and teamwork we witnessed over the weekend captured the true heart of Stagecoach.”
And for our German network, led by General Manager Franchise Constanze Klostermann, the event was a proud showcase of how local Stagecoach schools are creating big opportunities for young people – not just in their own towns and cities, but across borders.
As a global franchise network, we are in a unique position to offer experiences like this. We have the infrastructure, the community and the vision to take students beyond their regular classes and give them moments they will carry with them forever. That’s a powerful responsibility – and one we take seriously.
When people think of franchising, they often think about systems, operations and business growth. But at Stagecoach, franchising means something more. It means helping a child take the stage for the first time. It means giving a teenager the courage to perform in front of 1,000 people. And it means building a future where creativity and confidence go hand in hand.
Because while the stage in Munich was the biggest they’ve performed on yet – for many of our students, it’s only the beginning.
