“At Signs Express (Liverpool & Wirral), my partner Louise and I have always believed that the strength of our business lies not only in the work we deliver, but also in the environment we create for our team and the community around us. Over the past few months, we’ve continued to invest in our centre, our people, and our local area, and we’re thrilled that the results are really starting to show.
Our latest internal project has been the installation of a new mezzanine level within the centre. This space allows us to declutter the workshop by providing much-needed storage, while also giving the team an additional finishing area. It’s part of our ongoing effort to create a positive, productive workspace that supports the wellbeing and efficiency of our staff.
The team have recently undergone training for our newest HP printer which is a significant step forward both for our customers and our productivity. This equipment enables us to speed up output dramatically while expanding the range of signage solutions we can offer. Our state-of-the-art flatbed printer is capable of printing directly onto substrates and handling rolls up to 3.2 metres wide, as well as being able to print two jobs simultaneously. Not only does this open up exciting opportunities such as custom wallpapers on a larger scale, but the printer also uses eco-friendly inks, reinforcing our sustainable approach.
In line with these upgrades, we’ve added a long wheelbase van to our fleet to support the larger format jobs we’re now capable of delivering. We’re also developing a pricing structure that will allow other Signs Express centres across the network to utilise our specialist equipment, a way of working collaboratively and strengthening the Signs Express community.
Local community involvement remains close to our hearts. We regularly support schools in the area and are planning a special project to provide mini high-vis jackets for children visiting the centre on school trips. These visits will include a competition where children can design their own signage and watch it being brought to life on our printers, a fun and educational way to inspire the next generation.
This autumn, we’ll also be hosting an open evening in partnership with the Wirral Chamber of Commerce. Local businesses will be invited to our newly refreshed centre for networking, a drinks reception, and the chance to build connections across the community.
On the customer side, we’re excited to be working with new clients such as K Sweep and Mediquip, as well as continuing strong relationships and sponsorship opportunities with organisations like local rugby clubs. Our refreshed capabilities mean we can deliver more for both existing and new customers, while also positioning ourselves as a sustainably focused business, supported by upgrades such as our new solar panels.
It’s been a period of real progress for us at Signs Express (Liverpool & Wirral). We have a motivated, enthusiastic team, fantastic new equipment, and a growing number of opportunities to connect with customers and the wider community. With plenty of projects in the pipeline, Louise and I are excited about the future and proud of the positive direction in which the centre is heading.”
