Exciting growth for Mathnasium

Renowned as a leading management franchise, Mathnasium draws top-notch executives from all corners of the UK.

Exciting growth for Mathnasium

In the last 12-months, the brand has experienced impressive growth both in network size and franchisee performance. The latest franchisees to join the now 24-strong network demonstrate the impressive opportunity in the market and the appeal of children’s education franchises.

As well as attracting new investors, Mathnasium is also focussed on supporting its existing franchisees into multi-unit ownership. In a market where demand continues to outstrip supply, Martin Heaton Cooper is one franchisee capitalising on the status quo. His expansion begins with his second franchise in Muswell Hill in a matter of weeks. Martin says the combination of outstanding feedback from students and parents, the sense of personal satisfaction and the continued demand are what spurred him on.

“We are literally changing lives. Often, we’ll see kids that have fallen behind, and to watch these children grow in confidence and ability is enormously rewarding. We place the quality of education first, and it has been recognised for two years in a row that we have the highest standards of all Mathnasium Centres in the UK. I’m excited to get to work replicating this success at Muswell Hill!”

The strength and success of a franchise network is best exemplified when a head office team member invests in their own franchise. This is the story of Fiona MacKenzie, who is set to launch Mathnasium of Richmond upon Thames. Previously a Centre Director for Mathnasium of Clapham, the company’s largest corporate-owned centre, Fiona spent four years as a key member of the head office team before embarking on her entrepreneurial journey.

“I worked as an instructor at Mathnasium whilst studying – it wasn’t meant to be a long-term plan, but I fell in love with the brand and what it stands for. I went from being an Instructor to running that centre and from then on, I knew it was going to be my long-term career path. Seeing the confidence develop in so many children and experiencing the support and investment from the franchisor sealed the deal!”

Mathnasium is one of the fastest-growing after-school education franchises in the UK. Combining a centre-based and online tuition model, Mathnasium franchisees manage a team of Instructors who expertly guide students through a customised learning plan, supporting all learning styles.

Another newcomer, Ken Shum, becomes franchisee of the new Mathnasium of Twickenham. Although a newcomer to Mathnasium, Ken brings a trove of business acumen to the table, with a proven track record as a franchisee across multiple brands. His dual passion for education and enterprise makes the franchise an optimal choice for him. “My enthusiasm lies in fostering education and bolstering children’s mathematical prowess, which spurred me to introduce Mathnasium to my local community. I was truly captivated by Mathnasium’s innovative teaching approach: a blend of clear, concise terminology and concepts, presented in a fun and engaging environment, which mirrors my own values. I am thrilled to join the Mathnasium family!”

Mathnasium has just been awarded the coveted 5-star Franchisee Satisfaction Award after taking part in the WorkBuzz Franchisee Satisfaction Survey. Its franchisees anonymously rated the brand above industry average in key areas such as training and support, system, culture, relationships, leadership and overall satisfaction.

“We’re absolutely delighted by the results of the survey,” said John Preston, UK Master Franchisee for Mathnasium. “The last few years have been spent building an incredible head office team, mentoring franchisees and implementing positive, lasting change to drive the business forwards. It doesn’t get much better than being awarded 5-Star Satisfaction from your own network!”
