It’s all systems go for German Doner Kebab whose ambitious UK plans include their recent landmark opening on Greenwich Peninsula.
German Doner Kebab could hardly contain their excitement at the announcement that they have recently opened a branch at London’s O2 Entertainment District. The gourmet kebab chain says this latest business opportunity has created 40 new jobs, and is part of their rapid expansion plan for 2021.
This flagship new restaurant on the Greenwich Peninsula is one of 47 planned franchised outlets earmarked for opening during the current calendar year – some of which have already started trading. German Doner Kebab has enjoyed recent accelerated expansion in the UK, where they opened 12 new outlets last year.
In total, there are 65 UK branches currently open, with the company starting out as a single restaurant in Berlin back in 1989. Daniel Bunce, managing director for the UK and Europe, said: “The O2 has long been in our sights and to be launching our new flagship restaurant in such an iconic London location represents a landmark moment in the growth of German Doner Kebab.
“Our game-changing kebabs are revolutionising the sector in the UK and we are excited to be bringing a new fast-casual experience to The O2. It is all part of our ambitious growth plans for the UK.”
The O2 is located just 15 minutes from central London and Alistair Wood, of Waterfront Limited Partnership, which owns and runs the Entertainment District, said: “We’re delighted to welcome the flagship German Doner Kebab restaurant to The O2 this summer.
“Their unique fast-casual dining experience is a great addition to our mix, as we continue to diversify our offerings for visitors. The district is a haven of independent and well-known food and beverage brands.”
