Fifteen years and counting

TaxAssist Accountants celebrate milestone anniversaries.

From Bath to Bingley, and Pinner to Plymouth, it was drinks all-round for nine regional business partners with TaxAssist Accountants. All nine were celebrating 15 years in partnership with the East Anglia-based franchise, which was founded in Norwich during the mid-1990s.

Since then, the network has expanded globally, and has more than 80,000 clients and over 420 shops and offices. And to honour the recent landmarks reached by these nine British franchisees, TaxAssist presented each of them with a thank-you gift.

The franchisees in question are:

  • Keith Adams (Bath, Bedminster, Bristol South and Clifton);
  • Steve Andrew (Oldham);
  • Nick and Pat Brook (Barnsley, Huddersfield and Sheffield North);
  • Drazen Coric (East Finchley);
  • Dave Forrester (Bingley, Ilkley and Keighley);
  • Gary and Cheryl Jacks (Chester, Ellesmere Port, Wallasey and Queensferry);
  • Indira Mandalia (Pinner);
  • Alex Smith (Peverell and Plymouth);
  • Ian Smith (Horfield).

All nine operate substantial practices, having opened their businesses in 2006 with no clients. Some have acquired multiple premises while others have purchased more than one franchise territory.

Among this group is Alex Smith who joined the brand at the age of 30, after relocating from Surrey to Devon. He said: “The time has really flown. When I started, I hadn’t really found my true vocation after three previous roles – none lasting more than four years. I feel truly blessed to have found a career with TaxAssist who I consider to be members of my ‘extended family.’ It’s a truly unique company.”

From north London, Drazen Coric added: “It’s great to work within our local community and help small businesses and individuals. My wife and I have made many new friends and acquaintances over these last 15 years, so it’s a huge thank-you to the Norwich team for all their support and encouragement.”

Ian Smith, whose business is in Horfield, Bristol, explained: “These last 15 years have passed so quickly and I have grown from a standing start to running my own profitable business. I could never go back to working for someone else and I’ve fulfilled one of my earliest ambitions to be my own boss.”
