Jackson making plans for Nigel

Warrington franchisee agrees 10 more years with growing fire and security brand.

After seven years as a franchisee with Jackson Fire & Security, Nigel Knowles is on the verge of committing himself to the brand for another decade. Based in Warrington, Nigel says he has no hesitation in increasing the length of his contract by 10 more years.

And, in an interview with Elite Franchise magazine, he provided a multitude of reasons why life and business is good right now. Nigel said: “As for why I want to remain a franchisee with Jackson: Firstly, I enjoy the positive work-life balance that running this franchise has given me.

“Secondly, I have also expanded my skill set and my knowledge base. And this has contributed enormously to the growth of the Warrington franchise. As part of the development of the business, I am building a good team around me. It has integrity and is very much customer focused.”

Jackson Fire began trading in 1991 and has franchises across North Wales, north-west England, Yorkshire, Teesside, Cambridgeshire, London, Kent, and Surrey. Nigel joined the party in 2017 and part of his role is to provide support to newer franchisees. This includes helping them to understand systems and processes.

He added: “The entire support structure is great. The development of the Franchise Support Team has been excellent and is allowing franchisees to spend more time on growing their businesses. For example, there is a quality manager who assists with compliance and auditing which takes a big headache away from us.

“The company has recently installed new service management software. This allows us to streamline our customer experience even more, thus reducing administrative tasks for franchisees. And the more experienced franchisees – which include me – are happy to help and advise the new recruits, which I often do.”

Jackson Fire & Security‘s head office is in the North Wales town of Mold, not far from the English border city of Chester. Over the years, the company has built a solid reputation for excellence and is proud to have been awarded a Gold standard by the National Security Inspectorate (NSI).

Nigel added: “The need to have industry accreditation is highly important for the company. It sets franchisees apart from their local competition. We also enjoy supplier partnerships with the likes of Siemens and Orisec.”

Nigel admits he is delighted to be a respected member of the local business community and, by joining Jackson, has developed a deep sense of belonging: “The combination of providing an important service to local businesses, as well as the technical aspect of fire and security systems, is proving an ideal match for me.

“The potential for growth means that this renewal of the franchise agreement – for another 10 years – is an absolute no-brainer. It is inspiring to be part of a network that is a leading provider of fire and security solutions across the UK. The future certainly looks bright as a Jackson franchisee.”
