Muffin Break to open 65th UK store as revolutionary bakery takes over Britain's high streets

What does it take to find the perfect cup of coffee and a delightful pastry to go along with it? Locals are spoilt for choice when it comes to indulging their sweet tooth at their favourite high street cafes. Now, leading franchise bakery Muffin Break, is winning over local communities with its quality approach to modern-day bakeries.

Muffin Break is set to open its 65th store in Colchester this August after setting up two branches in Poole and Hastings earlier this year.

Originating from Australia, Muffin Break opened its first UK store in 2001 and has since expanded worldwide with over 300 sites across the globe, including countries like New Zealand and India.

Muffin Break’s philosophy focuses on “good goes in”, with an extensive menu featuring sweet and savoury muffins, hot and cold sandwiches, freshly ground Arabica coffee and refreshing smoothies.

They also provide a gluten-free range, vegan selection and dairy-free alternatives.

A group of high-skilled bakers are tasked to bake muffins from scratch on-site every single day using only the highest quality ingredients.

New data by The NPD Group, Bakery Trends Tracker revealed that Britain’s bakery chains have increased on-site sales and visits by 19%. This puts Muffin Break in a good position for the future with further plans to open 15 more stores by 2020.

Speaking about Muffin Break’s expansion, Head of Estates at Muffin Break, Joshua Nixon, said: “Say ‘bakery’ and people tend to have quite a fixed view of what this means, but at Muffin Break we’re offering something that little bit different.

“Our collective sites bake around 3,000 sweet and savoury muffins from scratch every day, these sit alongside our all-day food and drink offering. Our product range is really versatile which means we’ve been able to respond to the latest market trends, from the growing demand for vegan baked goods, to those that are allergen free.

“What’s more, we offer security to franchise owners by providing a robust and reliable platform to build their businesses on.

“We hope that our opening in the town of Colchester will encourage potential owners to see the success of bakery and explore the benefits of franchising in this rapidly growing market.”

With a rising popularity of quality food, it’s no question why locals would choose a freshly baked muffin over store-bought treats any day.
