Martin Jones ‘honoured’ to receive WorkBuzz Hero Award

The awards continue to come ‘thick and fast’ for leading care provider Home Instead. Hardly does a month pass, without the Warrington-based franchise receiving some sort of recognition for the top quality service they provide. The latest accolade goes to their chief executive officer Martin Jones who received the WorkBuzz Hero Award at this week’s Lloyds Bank-sponsored Best Franchise Awards.

This particular award was introduced to highlight individuals who have had a lasting impact on their franchise network and the sector as a whole. Like most awards’ ceremonies during the past nine to 12 months, this one was held virtually, with Martin recognised for his role in making sure that the teams and clients of Home Instead remained safe and well during the pandemic.

Accepting this award, Martin told those watching online: “I am absolutely honoured to have been chosen. It is very humbling and particularly rewarding to receive it at this time. During a year when it was far from business as usual, the Home Instead franchise family has pulled together like at no time before. Our amazing caregivers have continued to deliver our person-centred, high quality care at scale, despite everything the pandemic has thrown at us.”

Each year Home Instead undertake engagement and satisfaction surveys with their clients and caregiving teams. These findings help to shape the quality of care delivered to their clients, as well as the support offered to their franchise owners and employees across the UK.

Against the backdrop of Covid-19, when the care sector faced huge pressure and their clients were isolating or shielding, Home Instead achieved their best-ever client satisfaction score.

WorkBuzz, who specialise in carrying out wide ranging surveys, have been at the forefront of helping to improve workplace standards in many different industry sectors. On making this award to Martin, their CEO Steven Frost said: “It’s without doubt that Martin’s expert leadership, foresight and commitment to the wellbeing of all Home Instead stakeholders, which has been a significant contributory factor to the exceptional survey results achieved by the company last year.

“Did you know that 97 per-cent of Home Instead’s clients said they would recommend the company’s services to others. And that 98 per-cent said their caregiver kept them safe during the pandemic. Home Instead also achieved an employee engagement score of 95 – another world class total.

“Martin’s commitment to improving the lives of older people is demonstrated through a range of voluntary appointments including chair of The Silver Line and a trustee of Age UK. As a member of the UKHCA (United Kingdom Homecare Association) and TSA (developing technology enabled care) boards, he is helping to bring innovation to the homecare sector. As a trustee of the CWC (Care Workers Charity) he is also championing the role of caregivers.”

Last autumn Home Instead was named the British Franchise Association’s (BFA) ‘Gold Franchisor of the Year,’ and they also topped the Elite Franchise Top 100 list.
