Taylor Made acquire 50% share in Mister Tacho

Darren’s franchising empire extends further with move into tachograph analysis.

Taylor Made Franchising continues its relentless search for new business opportunities by taking a half-share of the tachograph analysis franchise, Mister Tacho Ltd. The company will continue to trade as normal. Founded by Frank O’Keeffe in 2012 and franchised two years later, Mister Tacho currently has seven franchisees operating across the south-east of England.

These business partners operate in Enfield, east London, Essex, north London and Hertfordshire. This latest move cements Taylor Made Franchising‘s expansion within the UK franchising sector, and fits well beside their existing business PVC Vendo, which provides vehicle cleaning services to commercial fleets.

Taylor Made Franchising, which already owns five other franchise businesses, enjoys a combined annual turnover in excess of £7m. Its growing network includes over 100 van-based owner-operator business partners.

After acquiring a 50% share of Mister Tacho Ltd, the chief executive of Taylor Made, Darren Taylor, said: “This is a great move for us and we are delighted to welcome Frank, as well as Mister Tacho‘s franchisees. Going forwards, Frank and I will run the business together. He will continue to run the day-to-day operation and my team and I will work with him to grow the franchising side.”

Frank O’Keeffe added: “With Darren and his highly experienced team by my side, I feel very confident about the future of the business. I’ve always believed in the franchise model and now, in partnership with Taylor Made Franchising, the full potential of Mister Tacho Ltd will be properly realised.”

And Frank is keen to attract new franchisees, as he explains: “The job we do is hugely important. If we get our analysis wrong it could cost a firm their license and business. So we need people who will care about their customers, and the service they provide, and also possess a great attention to detail.”

Darren Taylor went on: “Since the pandemic, the desire by many people to be in charge of their own working lives is huge, with many keen to run their own businesses. Franchises like Mister Tacho Ltd provide a real opportunity for people to change their lives and build successful, sustainable businesses with our support.

“We have seen a significant upturn in the numbers of new franchisees coming on board recently, and we are looking forward to helping many more people realise their dreams of self-employment.”
