UK dominate ActionCOACH Global Awards

The UK’s franchise partners celebrate more success at the company’s own annual ‘Oscars ceremony.

It was another glorious occasion for the UK wing of world-renowned franchisor ActionCOACH which recently held their annual Global Awards ceremony. Staged over three days, this year’s event went ‘virtual’ for the first time in its history. Although the world’s leading business coaching franchise now operates in 80 countries, more than 30% of the awards went to UK operators.

Among the success stories – yet again – were Julie Wagstaff and Ian Christelow, co-founders of ActionCOACH UK. Julie and Ian were presented with their award after being named Team of the Year for the 12th successive time. Based at the national headquarters in Leicestershire, they spearhead the entire UK operation of the franchise.

There are currently more than 200 franchise partners in the UK and, after receiving the coveted award, Ian said: “Twelve years in a row – what an outstanding achievement for our team. This award is based on average income of coaches in each country, as well as net growth of the coaching team. So to remain the top team among 80 countries around the world is amazing. It’s a real testament to the hard work of everyone in the UK’s Support Team. It’s great to see our business coaches helping so many businesses not just survive, in these challenging times, but thrive.”

Because of the on-going Coronavirus pandemic, the event had to be held ‘virtually’ and included input from a number of the world’s top speakers. These included social media expert Mari Smith, dubbed the Queen of Facebook; King of Sales Jeffrey Gitomer; along with top business coach Brad Sugars; executive coach Marshall Goldsmith and the highest-earning business coach on the planet, Bruce Campbell. This prominent group told the virtual audience about how they have helped their clients, who are all business owners, achieve life-changing results.

Among the UK’s other successes was Essex-based ActionCOACH Lucas Vigilante who was inducted into the company’s Global Hall of Fame. A thoroughly delighted, and a somewhat surprised, Lucas said: “It came totally out of the blue. I was watching in a log cabin in the Cotswolds when I suddenly heard my name being mentioned. I just wasn’t expecting it. It’s amazing to be part of this superb franchise organisation. To be accepted into the ActionCOACH Hall of Fame is like all my dreams coming true.”

Stephen Unwin received the award for Best Client Retention; while Parag Prasad and Mark Page were recognised for their work with business coaching networking groups ActionCLUB and ProfitCLUB

Kevin Riley, from ActionCOACH Warwick, was another happy award winner, scooping up the prize for Global Rookie Coach of the Year. This particular accolade is based on client income as a first year franchisee.

Kevin explained: “Because of Covid, these past few months have been a real test for the majority of my clients. So providing a helping hand throughout lockdown, and afterwards too, has been an important role for me. To win Global Rookie Coach of the Year was simply the icing on the cake. The UK brand of ActionCOACH has many new rookies ready to step into my shoes when the next global conference takes place in Rio de Janeiro in 2021.”

ActionCOACH was formed more than 20 years ago in Australia and now has over 1,000 franchise partners around the globe.
