Whilst we meet online every month for continuous learning, support, updates, guidance and education there’s nothing like when we all get together in person.
We use our annual conference for connection and bonding. Whilst we do give our yearly updates and discuss new innovations and all get creative on ideas the main aim is for the network to have fun and get to know each other more.
We split the afternoon into four regional teams and play team building games where they have to work together, sometimes get a little competitive yet all from a place of teamwork and problem solving. We also always set some sort of challenge such as create a tv show based on an element of the business or create a new dance style, invent a diddi dance rap or create a video based on a trending sound. Listening to each other, sharing ideas and thinking outside the box has resulted in higher motivation and drive. We also find the franchisees connect more after the event and many then go onto collaborate at events and festivals!
Don’t’ get me wrong, rolling out of bed, sticking a nice top on and sitting behind a screen can be very convenient there’s nothing quite like being face to face with others. Something I love about industry events and meetings. I love attending the franchise exhibitions as well as those for dance, physical activity, children and young people and education. I was gutted I couldn’t make EWIB this year as so many in the industry and good friends now and I love catching up with them on a personal level. It’s why our EWIF London meeting will finally have a new venue to meet in come September instead of online which makes me so happy!
So, if you’re running a network or looking to host events and meetings get involved, its great technology can now enable us to connect when miles away, wherever possible seeing faces in person and sharing quality time to connect cannot be beaten.
