The new site marks the baker’s 50th store in the United Kingdom and expands the partnership that already includes locations in Calcot, Didcot, Lechlade, Ludlow, Lydney and Frenchay.
The outlet will offer a range of hand-crimped Cornish pasties, baked goods and hot drinks, including a medium roast coffee blend supplied by Bridge Coffee.
Mark Sullivan, chief executive of Warrens Bakery, said the company is pleased to open the Malmesbury site and that the expansion reflects changing consumer preferences for speed, convenience and quality.
The partnership with SGN Retail allows the bakery to operate within petrol station forecourts, providing access to motorists and local residents.
Warrens Bakery was founded in 1860 when two Cornish families merged their baking traditions. Today the brand operates 50 locations across high streets, railway stations and roadside sites. The Malmesbury concession is the latest addition to the chain’s strategy of growth through multi-unit franchise agreements.
SGN Retail manages a network of forecourt sites that host a variety of food and beverage concepts. The collaboration with Warrens Bakery is intended to enhance the offering at its stations by providing ready-to-eat options for drivers.
The Malmesbury concession is expected to serve both passing traffic and the surrounding community. Warrens Bakery positions itself between value-led bakery chains and premium café bakeries, aiming to deliver an accessible price point while maintaining a higher quality product range.
