Building confidence in your franchise journey

Stepping into business ownership can feel like a leap into the unknown

Building confidence in your franchise journey

Whether this is your first experience of entrepreneurship or you’re a seasoned professional at franchising, there are still new processes to learn, a new customer base to tap into and a new product or service to fully get to grips with. However, stepping into franchising is a true opportunity for empowerment and many have found their confidence build and build through the journey.

Security from the get-go

One of the biggest confidence boosters in the franchise industry is the assurance that you are taking on a business with a tried and trusted model. Not only does becoming a franchisee come equipped with an established brand and reputation to work with, but also with fellow franchisees and a franchisor team to support you. All this means you can feel confident in the business you’re running, even if you’re still building up your confidence as the business owner.

Ownership without being alone

Yasmin Yazdi, the Principal and franchisee of several Stagecoach Performing Arts schools, found that franchising helped her achieve her professional goals despite her nerves. She said, “I have considered going into business ownership on my own, but the thought of starting a business from scratch brought about a lot of anxieties. What sets Stagecoach apart is the unparalleled support they provide. From the moment I joined, I instantly felt the backing of the Head Office team. Having so many professionals at senior level and from all across the network to look up to and draw inspiration from is incredibly empowering.”

Taking the next step

Building confidence in your franchise journey means something different to everyone. For some, it might be creating a business in a strong enough position to sell on one day, and to others it might mean reaching a place where you’re ready to scale.

For Yasmin, after finding great success in her first Stagecoach territory, she soon built her confidence up to take on a second territory. She said, “Taking on the second territory was an absolute game-changer for me, and the results have been astounding. Witnessing the incredible income and recognising its untapped potential excites me for the future. It’s a constant reminder that growth and success come when you embrace new opportunities and remain adaptable.”

Professional pride and real-world impact

However, for many in franchising it’s not all about the big business goals. There is also so much space for local impact. For some franchisees, the biggest source of pride is finding confidence that their business means something to its customers and community.

Yasmin’s confidence as a business owner is linked both to her success as a franchisee and to the very real benefit her classes have for her students, with the aim to build their confidence too. “We had a little girl in Early Stages who was extremely shy and lacked the confidence to speak,” She shared. “Fast-forward to now, she’s about to enter Stage Two and she’s not only speaking but actively participating in her LAMDA exams, achieving exceptional marks. Though she’s still reserved, her transformation from day one until now is phenomenal. I couldn’t be prouder of the incredible skills we are instilling in her and the rest of our students for their future.”

Building confidence in your own journey

How you find and build confidence in your entrepreneur journey is personal to you. Through knowing you have a support network around you, to your business growth, to real-world impact, or all of the above, there are so many opportunities for you to wear your status as franchisee with pride.
