Bumper month for TaxAssist Accountants

Popular UK franchise experiences sharp rise in demand for financial expertise during pandemic.

With Covid-19 refusing to depart quietly, TaxAssist Accountants has seen demand for their services grow at a rate never experienced before. During the month of July, the Norwich-based franchisor registered its highest ever number of business client leads.

Not only were TaxAssist Accountants giving advice to their existing clients – which currently exceeds 76,000 – they also received more calls than ever from potential new ones, many of which have already signed on the dotted line.

As businesses and individuals turn to accountants for advice and guidance, to guide them through the financial challenges inflicted on them by the Coronavirus pandemic, TaxAssist Accountants has led the fightback head on.

James Mattam, who is the group’s business development director, said: “July was an unprecedented month for new business client leads generated by our support centre. Our team of call handlers dealt with more than 800.”

Many of these were either referrals, from existing TaxAssist clients, or those unhappy with the level of service being shown by their own accountants. James added: “All of our accountants have been incredibly busy supporting their clients through the Covid-19 crisis. They have dealt with grant applications, funding and furloughing claims, as well as cash flow advice.

“We are receiving a huge number of new business enquiries and referrals from existing clients, happy to recommend TaxAssist’s services. We are also receiving calls from businesses looking to migrate to our network, because they feel unsupported by their own current accountant in these challenging times.”

Since opening their doors 25 years ago, TaxAssist Accountants has nurtured 230 franchises across the UK, with demand reaching an all-time high as businesses seek support and expertise to cope with the fallout from Covid-19. The support centre team has been working tirelessly to ensure its franchisees have correct and up-to-date information to meet the needs of their clients. Over the past few months, TaxAssist Accountants has centralised its email campaigns in a bid to speed-up the process of providing relevant data and advice.

James explained: “All of our accountants are open for business and offer flexible ways to make contact, whether over the phone, via video consultation or in one of our shops or offices – while respecting the importance of staying safe through social distancing. We provide a full service, with our clients able to utilise the very latest online software solutions. All of our local accountants offer a friendly, efficient and personal service.
