With more and more people working from home, it’s been a busy few months for the franchisees of Ovenclean.
In a year influenced so heavily by Covid-19, there have been many more losers than winners in the world of business. Some businesses have already closed their doors forever, others are heading in the same direction, while a number are just about surviving – and little else. Among those who have actually benefitted from the Government’s enforced lockdown are companies whose products and services are connected to home improvement and house repairs.
One such sector to have prospered during 2020 is the cleaning industry with Worcestershire-based Ovenclean enjoying their “best ever summer for customer enquiries.” Between June and September, the cleaning franchise received nearly a third more leads than for the same period last year. They were launched in 1994, have their head offices in Kidderminster, and they now oversee more than 100 franchisees across the UK.
Rebecca de Chair, marketing manager at Ovenclean, said: “The 28% increase, seen from June to September, reflects that oven cleaning services are more in demand than ever. It has been our best ever summer for customer enquiries. This increased demand is partly as a result of increased home baking during lockdown. But generally, cleaning has become more of a priority for UK homeowners in recent months. Together with more people working from home, it’s never been easier to organise a professional deep oven clean.”
But these were not the only reasons for a surge in enquires, says Rebecca: “It also shows that our comprehensive, national marketing campaigns have worked well. These include social media advertising, Google Pay Per Click, as well as TV, which are all continuing to work really effectively.”
And Rebecca was quick to reassure readers that the company has put in place a number of measures to make certain health and safety is strictly adhered to during the pandemic.
Among Ovenclean‘s Covid-19 secure measures, are:
- Quoting and booking appointments for oven cleans over the phone or by email;
- Making sure our franchisees maintain a two-metre distance from customers;
- All franchisees wear masks, gloves, coveralls and over shoes where appropriate;
- Disinfecting all surfaces the franchisee has come into contact with.
Rebecca went on: “Coronavirus has put enormous pressure on everyone, and it’s understandable that people will be worried about going to work or having people come into their homes. But we’re doing everything in our power to keep our oven cleaning franchisees and their customers’ safe, by adhering to Covid-19 secure practices at all times.”
Ovenclean have also confirmed they are operating a paper and cash-free system where possible, and that all franchisees are using the NHS Track and Trace App. And with demand for their services on the increase, Ovenclean would be happy to have a chat with prospective entrepreneurs keen to run their own franchise business.
