Two companies, at opposite ends of the country, recently celebrated anniversaries with leading franchise Petpals.

While the husband and wife team of Matt and Louise Wilder are toasting five years in business at their Romsey and Winchester site, three employees in Darlington have chalked up 10 years at the company.

And such has been the success at Romsey and
Winchester
, Matt and Louise have decided to expand their stake by taking on the nearby residential areas of Chandler’s Ford and North Baddesley.

In addition to caring for their own young family, Matt and Louise spend their days walking dogs and visiting cats, along with other small pets across their territory.

Matt said: “We’d like to thank all our clients for allowing us to look after their furry friends and we look forward to more walks, love and cuddles over the next five.

“We think it is our commitment to high standards that sets us apart from the rest.”

Petpals, whose franchise HQ is in Andover, have more than 50 independently owned businesses caring for pets across the UK.

They provide professional pet care for animals such as dogs, cats, rabbits, gerbils, and birds.

Among the services they offer, are pet sitting, dog walking, cat visits, home boarding as well as a pet taxi service.

Almost 300 miles away in Durham, Petpals
Darlington & Yarm
is run by another husband and wife team of Sally Ann and David Gray.

The couple purchased the franchise 14 years ago, and it is now one of the largest businesses in the Petpals‘ network.

They employ over 20 people who visit around 3,000 pets every year.

And to celebrate their 10 years with the company, Rachael Pattinson, Emma Craggs and Lynn Stevens were recently presented with bouquets of flowers.

Director David Gray said: “We feel privileged to have Rachael, Emma and Lynn reach this milestone with us.

“They have been an integral part of the growth of our business, and they were determined to carry on working through the Coronavirus crisis, which we are so grateful for.

“As soon as local restaurants re-open, Sally and I will be taking all three of them out for a meal.”

And delighted staff member Rachael admitted: “I don’t even see this as work.”

Kevin Thackrah, managing director of Petpals, added: “Our congratulations to both businesses and their staff on reaching these anniversaries.

“We are so proud that these businesses are thriving and have such wonderful, loyal staff. We thank them for their hard work, looking after the nation’s pets.”
