Three’s the magic number for Papa John’s

Leading pizza franchise bucks the trend by opening three new stores in England.

Despite the current economic uncertainty caused by the on-going Coronavirus pandemic, Pizza franchisor Papa John’s has opened three new stores in the UK.

At a time when many established restaurant and food retail chains are closing some of their outlets, Papa John’s has increased their number of franchise operations in the UK to more than 450.

The latest ones to open are at Gosport on the Hampshire coast, Maidstone in Kent and Wednesbury in the West Midlands.

And there’s still room for more new stores, says Phil Gaffer who is Papa John’s franchise sales and business development manager in the UK.

He explained: “For those interested in running a multi-unit Papa John’s franchise, we have opportunities throughout the UK. We continue to welcome applications from potential new franchisees who are keen to run a multi-unit franchise.

“We are particularly looking for franchisees to develop businesses in the north-west, north-east, Nottinghamshire and the south-west.

“But until we can resume in-person visits, our recruitment process has had to become ‘virtual’ for a number of elements.

“This includes an online visit to our ‘quality control centre’ where prospective franchisees can see how we work and are given an opportunity to talk to key members of staff.

“Help will be provided with location selection, growth incentives and full turn-key opening of stores. For all franchisees, the company supplies all the assistance needed to get your successful Papa John’s up and running.”

Papa John’s was founded in the United States in 1984, and there are now more than 5,000 stores in over 40 international markets and territories.

The three recent English additions were all opened for contactless delivery during the past month and Paul added: “They are being managed by some of our most experienced franchisees who have all run multi-unit operations for several years.

“All of our outlets are following strict government advice regarding health and safety. And we are proud that our network of franchisees – and their staff – has been able to continue to deliver hot food to those needing to stay at home during these difficult times.”
