TRIB3’s founder shortlisted for major award

The founder and chief executive of TRIB3 is looking forward to travelling to the English capital this autumn to attend the Great British Entrepreneur Awards. Sheffield-based Kevin Yates has been shortlisted in the category titled Health & Beauty Entrepreneur of the Year, which is a testament to the continued success of his internationally-renowned company.

Many consider Kevin to be a pioneer of boutique fitness, having built up more than 25 years of experience in the fitness industry. He has a proven track record thanks to his innovative approach to business, while also delivering shareholder value.

This latest honour recognises his influence within the health and fitness industry, with Kevin saying: “It’s an absolute honour to have made the shortlist along with some other brilliant business minds. I’m already looking forward to heading down to London to meet entrepreneurs from many different sectors to share ideas. Hopefully, we’ll all learn something from each other and, who knows, maybe create some new partnerships.”

Kevin served for four years in the British Army, before becoming a personal trainer in his local gym. He worked his way into senior roles at Fitness First, Esporta and 1Life, and then decided to develop and build one of the UK’s first boutique fitness brands.

Kevin founded TRIB3, with the first store launching in his home city of Sheffield in 2016. In his current role as company CEO, he manages the executive board and oversees day-to-day operations. He has a reputation for out-of-the-box thinking, as well as rewriting the rule book in the fitness industry.

By the end of 2022, TRIB3 will have opened more than 30 stores, with another 70 soon to start trading across 11 international territories. Kevin has always intimated that he wants TRIB3 to become a community fitness hub, over the years and decades ahead.

He added: “It has been an incredible journey which has seen me go from an unpaid personal trainer at my local gym, to building a global boutique fitness franchise. TRIB3 is paving the way for entrepreneurs to realise their ambitions. It’s no secret that my goal for TRIB3 is to have 1,000 stores worldwide. We might not be there today, but we are well on our way and I have no doubt that we will get there.”

The awards’ ceremony takes place on Monday, November 21st, and will celebrate the UK’s finest entrepreneurs, mentors and investors, as well as highlighting creativity and ambition.
