Why annual franchise conferences still matter more than ever

In an increasingly digital world, where communication is instant and information is always at our fingertips, it’s a fair question to ask: do we still need annual franchise conferences?

In an increasingly digital world, where communication is instant and information is always at our fingertips, it’s a fair question to ask: do we still need annual franchise conferences?

I’m going to set my stall out right away and my answer is absolutely, yes. In fact, their importance has only grown.

There is something uniquely powerful about bringing a network together in one place, at one time. In a franchise network, where owners, operators, and teams are often spread across regions, countries, and even continents, the annual conference represents a rare and invaluable opportunity that you can’t afford to miss.

You simply can’t replicate the energy, the conversations, or the shared sense of purpose that comes from being physically together.

A chance to connect

We’re proud to have a great relationship with our network but naturally, the majority of conversations are over the phone or email. Especially for a growing network like ours with new franchisees, team members and Support Office staff, a franchise conference allows everyone to put faces to names and strengthen those bonds.

The events provide the space for meaningful, face-to-face interactions – not just between franchisor and franchisee, but across the entire network. Conversations that might never happen over email or video calls suddenly unfold organically. Ideas are shared, challenges are discussed and solutions emerge collaboratively. Relationships are strengthened, and new ones are formed.

Inspiring together

A key part of our Snap Fitness EMEA Summit is creating a content schedule which lands with impact. Our Support Office team works tirelessly to create an agenda that’s based on real-time data, pulling together internal and external speakers and providing relevant insights and actions they can take back to their clubs.

Franchisees are deeply invested in their local communities, often navigating pressures that others don’t see. Bringing everyone together allows us to reset and through storytelling, remind everyone why they started and how we’re all in this together; everyone wants everyone else to succeed.

Rewards and recognition

While an annual conference is a great opportunity to educate and inspire, they’re an incredibly powerful platform to celebrate success too. The closing night of our Summit is our annual awards dinner where we recognise the incredible achievements of our network.

That’s not where the recognition starts and ends though. Throughout the event and the content sessions, we’re shouting about our top performers and even getting them to present and be part of them. Franchise networks feed off each other and if they see and hear about success from their peers, it can often deepen the impact.

The feeling you belong

The most important role of an annual conference is something less tangible, yet more powerful; reinforcing that every franchisee is part of something bigger.

At Snap Fitness, we are more than a collection of individual gyms. We are a brand, a community and a movement that spans six continents and over 1,000 locations. When our franchisees come together, they see and feel that firsthand. It builds pride in the brand they represent and the role they play within it.

That sense of belonging is invaluable. It fuels motivation, strengthens commitment and aligns everyone behind a common purpose.

As we look ahead to our Snap Fitness EMEA Summit this May, we’re very much in the thick of planning and we’re approaching it with one clear objective: to create a touchpoint our franchisees won’t forget.

We’re focused on making it incredibly memorable. Whether it’s the energy in the room, the quality of the conversations, the fun and social moments to the moments of recognition and celebration, every detail matters. Because we know that when people leave inspired, connected, and proud, the impact carries far beyond the event itself.

Annual conferences aren’t just a date in the calendar. They are a catalyst.

They bring people together, strengthen the network, and remind everyone that they are part of something bigger than themselves. And in a franchise system, that shared belief is what drives long-term success.
