Why quality matters more than ever before

Today, more and more people are looking for sustainability and durability from the products and the services they buy.  Deciding which franchise to invest in is no different. Lisa Stead of Shuttercraft talks us through the importance of making careful choices based on quality

Buying a franchise is a life changing moment and it’s important to choose one that fits with your own personal values and ethics. You need to be proud of what you are part of and passionate about the product or service. At Shuttercraft, we look for this passion and pride when we look at bringing new franchise partners into our network

The quality of any franchise can be split into four key areas and here is our guide to what to look for in deciding which franchise is the best fit for you.

Quality products

Whether it’s a product or a service you need to be confident that what you are offering are best in market and that you believe in it. You will find it very difficult to be successful selling something you don’t feel enthusiastic or positive about. Ask yourself – if I was in the market for this would I buy this product from this franchise? If you wouldn’t then this probably isn’t the right franchise for you.

It’s also important to think about whether the market for this product or service has scope for growth and can provide you with the chance to develop your business and achieve the income level you want. If it doesn’t then you may want to consider whether it can really provide you with the income and growth potential you want.

Quality training and support

It’s very likely that when you invest in a franchise, it’s a new business for you and you will need all the help and support you can get to ensure your hard-earned cash delivers results. The best franchises offer quality training and support at the outset and maintain this for the duration of your franchise agreement. It should be clear that you will have help in setting up your business and in-depth training on the products or service you are offering which is imperative if you are going to have the best chance of success.

Beyond the set-up stage a quality franchise will also provide you with ongoing support through lead generation, marketing your business and nurturing you as you begin to make sales. If it feels that any of this is missing when you are considering your franchise options, then it may be time to look at other opportunities.

Quality network

Arguably one of the most important parts of any franchise is the other franchisees and the head office team. A quality network will be made up of like-minded people who want to help and support each other. Ask to meet some of the other franchise partners and find out what they really think. If there is a spirit of camaraderie and support then you know that you will be joining a great network and will find others who will support you. If there isn’t a cohesive team feeling then it’s unlikely that you will get this.

Quality communication makes all the difference

At a time when face to face communication has been extremely difficult, it has highlighted the importance of, not just how we use other mediums such as email and online video, but also the quality of how we communicate – a core reason of why somebody decides to do business with us. From how we approach them to how we complete the sale, it is almost as important as the quality of the product or service we are offering.

As you begin finding out about a franchise think about the quality of the communication between you – have they listened to what you are trying to achieve, do they understand your motivation, have they responded quickly and efficiently to your requests. If the answer to these questions is yes, then this could be the perfect franchise for you.

Establishing quality is important when deciding where to invest for your future. A few salient questions or considerations could ensure that the franchise you decide on, meets your personal requirements.
