Fiona is a Partner at Knights Plc and has many years’ experience in advising businesses on franchising
and in particular on setting up, managing, growing and exiting franchise networks. Fiona heads up a
multidisciplinary team that advise those in the franchise sector on all aspects of their franchising
journey from acquisitions and disposals, real estate, contracts and termination, HR aspects and
disputes. With clients ranging from established to emerging franchisors, area developers, multi-unit
and multi brand franchisees, brands coming into the UK, and those wishing to expand elsewhere.
She is a BFA Qualified Franchise Professional and has a postgraduate diploma with distinction in
Commercial Intellectual Property Law. She is a Legal 500 Recommended Lawyer and is ranked as a
Notable Practitioner in Chambers for Franchise Law.
Fiona is passionate about supporting women in business and is the Midlands Regional Chair of EWIF
(Encouraging Women into Franchising), a member of the Association of Franchise Attorneys, has
served as a member of the External Relations Committee of the British Franchise Association and is
Consulting Editorial Board Member and author for Lexis Nexis PSL Commercial and Franchising and
Contributor to Elite Franchise Magazine. She has been awarded EWIF Service Provider of the Year
and has been a Judge for Elite Franchise Top 100 Franchises 2018, 2019, 2020,2021,2022 and 2023.
She is also a regular speaker at Bfa, and franchise industry events, and contributor to business press,
franchise blogs and media
