Six months on already, I can’t believe the year has flown by so fast! At the beginning of our diary entries, we were just about to embark on our new hub and spoke journey, as we (Signs Express Twickenham), expanded into our neighbouring territory of Battersea.

Six months on already, I can’t believe the year has flown by so fast! At the beginning of our diary entries, we were just about to embark on our new hub and spoke journey, as we (Signs Express Twickenham), expanded into our neighbouring territory of Battersea.

Looking back over the past few months, it’s quite cathartic to think of the sheer volume of projects we’ve completed, the changes we’ve made in the team, the marketing developments and new initiatives we’ve launched, the new processes we’ve put in place and the unbelievable amount of hard work myself and the team have put in. It’s therefore fantastic and quite fitting for our last diary entry, to be able to report that October saw us record our biggest ever month of sales for Battersea, surpassing our forecasts, and even better, November is looking likely to follow suit.

Currently, we’re working in what I can only describe as controlled chaos (although I’m sure there’s a more business appropriate term for this)! We’re currently inundated with our order book and have a long list of Christmas jobs, however as we gear up for the end of the year, despite everyone feeling ready for a break and slightly frazzled, the team are energised and there’s a real buzz around the centre. With our two newest recruits settling into their roles, there’s a new dynamic and new energy around the business which is inspiring to work within.

Over the past few months, we’ve been working hard to create bespoke marketing campaigns, ensuring a joined-up approach with our sales strategies; last month it was all about panels, so exciting to see more of this work coming through. At the moment, we’re busy working on an exciting project for the RFU at Twickenham stadium replacing a vast amount of fascia’s, an exciting one being a big rugby fan, we’ve also got a great job coming up in Windsor for a large-scale corporate office refresh.

Onto Christmas, and we’re working through lots of window graphic projects, supporting our clients by bringing their Christmas campaigns to life. We’re delighted to be working with local jewellers Robinson’s again to create their festive window display, always an opulent design with lots of gold leaf creating a striking effect. We’re also busy working with our client Hari’s, a stunning five shop hair salon, as we get them ready for their peak Christmas season.

Allowing a little bit of time out to celebrate the festive season with our friends and colleagues, we’ve got a couple of Christmas parties thrown in the schedule too! Before we look forward to what we have in store for 2024 however, I just wanted to take a chance to say a massive heartfelt thank you to my amazing team for their unbelievable hard work and commitment to the business they’ve all shown this year. It’s been quite a journey over the past six months especially, but our continued growth and learnings couldn’t have been achieved without them.

As I wind up our last entry it’s important to ensure we continue our developments and growth into 2024 and beyond. With that in mind, we’ve got exciting plans in place as we continue to work on our more focussed sales and marketing campaigns, we continue to assess and analyse what works best for us as a business, we’re excited to see the team develop and expand further and also look towards investment into new machinery. So, watch this space! Hopefully I’ll be back at some point as we extend into our third territory and beyond!
