In memory of a deceased and much respected colleague, members of the Belvoir Group’s Franchise Support team recently completed a 22-mile sponsored walk through the Lincolnshire countryside to raise funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK.
After the colleague’s passing, following a short illness earlier this year, his family asked for any donations to be made to Pancreatic Cancer UK. In the process the sponsored walk raised over £1000.
Louise George, Company Secretary to the PLC Board, said: “This was a fantastic charity walk, which began with 15 members of the Belvoir Group’s Franchise Support team, plus Sprocket, our four-legged friend. Three of us completed the full 22 miles, and we were very lucky, as for once the weather was perfect – with no sign of rain!
George added: “The walk started in the village of Woolsthorpe and we then walked up to Belvoir Castle and along the Jubilee Way before dropping down into the village of Plungar. We then crossed fields to get onto the Grantham canal and walked along to Redmile for lunch, where we were joined by Grace Milham, Belvoir’s Group Operations Director. Grace was recently elected as a director of PropertyMark, and thanks to a good mobile signal and great technology, she was able to attend her first board meeting via Zoom before we set off on the final stretch of the walk!

In a wider context, meanwhile, the walk will also be contributing to the Belvoir Franchise Group’s 366 Days of Giving initiative, which is logging everyone’s charity and community initiatives throughout the year with the aim of achieving 366 Days by the end of December.
