Greensleeves add three new business partners to its UK network

Lawn care specialists Greensleeves have welcomed three new franchisees to their growing network. Kevin Lynagh and Joe Holland will operate their businesses in Scotland and Hampshire respectively, while Kristy Norris has taken over the existing territory of Somerset.

All three recently completed two weeks of comprehensive training, and will now enjoy the support of the head office team in Northamptonshire.

During training, the trio of new recruits learned about the company’s operations, finances, marketing and lawn care products. And as they begin their journey as a Greensleeves’ franchisee, they will also receive guidance from their respective Business Development Managers in their local regions.

Greensleeves, from their headquarters in the west Northants town of Brackley, have business partners covering all corners of the UK. They welcomed their 100th franchisee in 2021 and continue to witness a growing demand for their horticultural services. The three newest members of the network have completely different backgrounds.

Kevin Lynagh, from Stirling in central Scotland, worked in education in Saudi Arabia; Joe Holland, who runs the Greensleeves territory of West Bournemouth, was employed in the public sector; while Kristy Norris of Glastonbury has had a career in the food industry.

Kristy takes over a business which already has a customer base of 450 clients, two existing Greensleeves’ vans, as well as an experienced lawn manager. She said: “Having worked for three decades in roles that incorporated sales and operations, I was on the road much of the time.

“So I felt I needed a change of direction, and therefore looked for a job that was both fulfilling and local. Franchising appealed to me as it is a model that offers a clear pathway to business ownership. It has proven systems, established brands, and ongoing support.

Greensleeves became available in my area, so I jumped at the opportunity and bought the franchise.  I now wish to expand our services across the county.”

Stirlingshire born-and-bred franchisee Kevin gave up a senior position in the Middle East to focus on a role close to his heart. He explained: “With my green fingers and love of the outdoors, I was determined to find a new career which wasn’t office-based. After 20 years of working abroad, I looked into franchising and it seemed to tick all the boxes for me.

“Prior to my investment, I worked with my neighbouring franchisee who gave me first-hand insight into how the franchise model works. I am only at the start of my journey, but I feel like I’ve definitely made the right decision. My aim is to build a legacy for my children.”

As for Joe on the south coast, he said he wanted a complete career change: “I explored several franchise opportunities before deciding on Greensleeves. I did my research and knew immediately that they were the brand for me. They were responsive and helpful from the outset.

“I had access to franchisees in the network, which was invaluable and gave me confidence about the brand. The training at head office was extensive, and I met with my business development manager.

“These two weeks enabled me to understand how I needed to run the business both operationally and on a day-to-day basis. I can proudly say that I have already generated customers in my first week of trading.”

The franchise has enjoyed four straight years of growth, under parent-company Neighbourly® UK which is Britain’s largest home services organisation. Cheryl Harper, the managing director of Greensleeves, added: “I’m really proud to welcome our three new franchisees to the family, and to bring our brand to their local communities.

“It is already proving to be a promising year for Greensleeve, as we continue our commitment to grow the network in the UK. With spring approaching fast, the new recruits have joined the network at a great time and will be able to fully immerse themselves in their businesses, helping to improve and maintain the quality of lawns for customers.”
