India master franchise agreement signed for Pitman Training

In a significant move highlighting the burgeoning franchise market of India, Franchise India has signed a master franchise agreement with Pitman Training, a global leader in training solutions. This strategic alliance is poised to further strengthen the growing franchise landscape in India, a country with a rich history of embracing franchise models across various sectors.

India’s tryst with franchising dates back to the early 1990s, post the liberalisation era, where several international brands sought a footprint in the vast Indian market. Recognised as Asia’s third-largest economy, India has since then seen a steady upswing in its franchise industry, with sectors like education, food, retail and wellness leading the charge.

The synchronicity of this agreement with the appointment of Mike Smith as the new Head of Development at Pitman Training further underscores the brand’s commitment to expansion. Mike, with his vast experience spanning over 25 years in adult education and franchising, embodies the fusion of expertise and vision that Pitman Training seeks at this pivotal juncture.

Mike shared his insights, “Pitman Training’s journey resonated with me, and witnessing their international expansion aspirations aligned perfectly with my experience in managing multinational markets. India, with its rich franchising history, offers immense potential. Our ambition to inaugurate 120 Pitman Training centres in India over the next decade stands as a testament to this potential.”

Setting a robust roadmap, Mike added, “Beyond India, we’re also targeting our presence in at least four new countries by the end of next year. Domestically, my role will revolve around engaging investors interested in expanding across multiple sites and providing them with comprehensive support throughout their investment journey.”

The melding of Franchise India’s deep market understanding with Pitman Training’s global prowess, further propelled by Mike Smith’s leadership, is set to redefine the training and education franchising spectrum in India. Entrepreneurs and prospective franchise partners can meet the UK team next month on stand G30, Friday 6th & Saturday 7th October at the National Franchise Exhibition at Birmingham’s NEC. You can register for free tickets here or contact the team via their website.
