Local Mayor launches new training facility aiming to create opportunities for future generations

This month, Lord Mayor Cllr Karen Robinson officially launched Pitman Training’s newest training facility on 2 Collingwood Street. She applauded the brand’s determination to support the objectives of Newcastle City Council in reducing the number of people currently out of work and to create more opportunities for future generations in Newcastle upon Tyne.

“Congratulations to everyone at Pitman for all the hard work that has gone into developing this fantastic training facility here in Newcastle. Over the years, thousands of people have gained skills and qualifications with Pitman Training, which in turn has transformed their careers and changed their lives. This new state-of-the-art facility will go a long way in supporting Newcastle City Council’s objectives in creating more opportunities for the people of Newcastle to upskill, find work and climb the career ladder. As Malcolm X once said, “Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today.” Good luck to the team here at Pitman Training Newcastle for a successful future in this Grade II listed, beautiful Italian Palladian-style building – it is such a lovely home for Pitman Training.”
