Brands must find new ways to attract customers. Whether it’s coming up with new marketing techniques or unusual promotional campaigns, it’s important for franchises to continually catch people’s attention. And fast food franchise KFC definitely took the spotlight after cooking up a stint with Colonel Sanders leading a troupe of male strippers as part of its new ad campaign for the American Mother’s Day.”

Just weeks after the franchise transformed Sanders into a virtual Instagram influencer, KFC has now unveiled a video on its social media channels which stars a Sanders-inspired man with an entourage of Chippendales dancers, called the Chickendales. But while we’re sure many mums would love to see these bulked up beefcakes break it down on the dance floor, that’s not all – customers can make any mum feel special by logging on to the Chickendales site, type in their mother’s name and home state and send a customised video to their family’s matriarch.”

KFC indeed believes in pushing boundaries in its campaign messages. With a history of quirky ideas, this isn’t the first effort to play up the sex appeal of Sanders to create a message. In the past, its previous Mother’s Day stunts included the romance novella Tender Wings of Desire“which featured Sanders as a love interest.”

Commenting on this new promotion by the chicken chain, Andrea Zahumensky, chief marketing officer, KFC US, said: “[Wish] mom a happy Mother’s Day the KFC way by sending her a video of a shirt-ripping, finger-lickin’ performance cooked up by a troupe of hunky KFC Chickendales.”

Indeed, KFC is attempting to stay ahead in the game to attract more clients – including mothers – through its unique activities and we can be sure to say it’s a great way to spice up its marketing.”
