Dwyer Group has acquired Bright & Beautiful

The deal will see the home-cleaning service franchise become the Dwyer Group's 15th franchise

Dwyer Group has acquired Bright & Beautiful

That old adage that everything is bigger in Texas certainly seems to apply to the Dwyer Group, the holding company. Not only does the business’s international portfolio include over 75 companies but it’s also continuously growing the number of franchises under its umbrella. And having just announced its acquisition of Bright & Beautiful, the British home-cleaning franchise, the company now has 15 franchises and over franchisees 2,800 under its roof.

The deal will see Bright & Beautiful’s network of 50 franchisees, who currently employ more than 700 people in total, become part of the American company. Additionally, the acquisition will see Dwyer Group’s global sales grow to £1.2bn. Commenting on the deal, Mike Bidwell, president and CEO of Dwyer Group, said: “This addition helps Dwyer Group diversify our brand presence in the UK, taking us one step closer to offering a comprehensive residential and commercial service line-up to our customers.”

Entrepreneur Rachel Ray, who founded Bright & Beautiful a decade ago with a vision of providing eco-friendly residential cleaning, laundry and tidying up services, also added: “We are delighted to join one of the most powerful organisations in the industry. Our franchise network and clients will benefit from Dwyer Group’s vast expertise and extensive resources in the service sector, enabling us to expand across the UK and beyond.”

With Brexit having pushed all of the UK’s trading agreements into a state of flux, it’s comforting to see an international deal like this go through. Perhaps it also suggests that the special relationship between Britain and the US is still going strong in the world of franchising.
