Home Instead joins forces with TV presenter Alan Titchmarsh

Leading UK franchise to enjoy greater nationwide exposure on ITV

Home care franchise, Home Instead, has become the sole sponsor of popular ITV programme Love Your Garden. First aired in June 2011, Love Your Garden is a 30-minute weekly show in which a team of garden experts travel the country transforming outdoor spaces for some of the UK’s most deserving people.

Well-known broadcaster and horticulturist Alan Titchmarsh fronts the programme which is now in its 10th season. This recently-agreed sponsorship deal will hopefully boost the profile of Home Instead, while highlighting the benefits of home care and support during later life.

Within the show, screened on Monday evenings, 71-year-old Titchmarsh will be the voice of a new television commercial for Home Instead. This collaboration will feature a series of short branded films – of five, 10 and 15 seconds long – at the start and end of each segment of the show, and all to be voiced by the Yorkshire-born broadcaster.

Each item of film, known in the trade as an ‘ident’, is designed to demonstrate ‘a life well lived’ in the comfort of an elderly person’s own home. These ‘idents’ will highlight how older adults can still enjoy fulfilled lives during their 70s and 80s – and beyond.

Speaking about the partnership, Home Instead‘s brand and marketing director Lee Chapman said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to be back on mainstream TV and for Alan to represent our brand. It’s a great match. The campaign allows us to explore the wonderful theme of a ‘life well lived at home’ which resonates with so many of us, at the present time.

“We are working to ensure that families and their loved ones understand the care options available to them and are keen to celebrate independence in the home. A television audience will allow us to reach out to many people. It’s an exciting time for us.”

Home Instead, whose UK headquarters are in Warrington, was named ‘Gold Franchisor of the Year‘ by the British Franchise Association (BFA) last autumn. They also topped the Elite Franchise Top 100 list in December of last year.

And regarding this latest TV collaboration, Ruth Brown, head of business development at Home Instead, commented: “We are the first home care franchise to have developed a prime-time broadcast sponsorship. This is just part of the support we provide for our franchise owners, helping them to promote their business and the care they provide. We chose to use television as it’s an exceptional and proven way of communicating your services and brand values.”
