Double topping for Papa John's as popular pizza chain celebrates back-to-back successes

There’s no keeping Papa John’s out of the news for very long, with the global pizza chain scooping up yet another award. The franchise company were recently named ‘Pizza Delivery Chain of the Year,’ by the Pizza, Pasta & Italian Food Association, for the second year running. This award recognises that Papa John’s is the standout pizza company in this extremely competitive sector.

Justin Gilbert, director of business development for Papa John’s UK, said: “We are hugely proud of this achievement and the huge effort put in by our many teams during this incredibly challenging year.  We have continued to drive improvements across all areas of our business. Winning this award back-to-back is the result of everyone working together towards the same shared vision and goal.

“Our pizzas, made with the freshest and finest quality ingredients, have remained popular throughout, and were a real treat for our customers to enjoy during difficult times. Hopefully, in 2021, we’ll make even more improvements and be in with a chance to go for the hat trick.”

Papa John’s was founded in the United States in 1984, and there are now more than 450 stores across the UK. Worldwide, the company has over 5,000 outlets in more than 45 international markets.

Justin adds: “Over the past 12 months, we have been focused on introducing brand-new recipes to satisfy the very latest trends in food consumption across the globe. It is this attention to innovation, combined with top quality ingredients, rapid delivery times plus great customer service, which has enabled us to continue to grow in popularity in the UK.

“However, it’s also about convenience and fun, ensuring customers can have the pizza they want, when they want it and at their location of choice. As to our future growth, the key will be diversification in relation to locations where Papa John’s pizza is already available. We will still be opening new stores on the high street, but are now looking at ways we can partner organisations that already have an established customer base: These are likely to be organisations and businesses which are keen to add a quality, hot food to their offering. In 2021, we are committed to further expansion, by creating more jobs in new stores and continuing to deliver to the communities we serve.”

Papa John’s is actively recruiting franchisees interested in running a multi-unit outlet or one of the company’s ‘non-traditional’ stores. They have various opportunities available throughout the UK and for those who are interested in purchasing a Papa John’s franchise, then support and guidance will be provided by the head office team. Help is on hand to assist with location selection and growth incentives.
